Pig Miller wrote:^i know alot of people dvr the game, but i've never done that. i have a hard time watching non-live sports, mainly because i know i'll end up finding out the score of the game. just a personal thing.

also, quite honestly, sometimes i need a break from it. too much emotion tied into it. we all know how that goes.

It's not ideal, but if I can't catch a big game live and I can avoid seeing the score, then to me it will be close enough when I watch it. Plus I get to skip commercials, halftime, and sometimes even free throws ha ha.

ya agreed, unless some here are bandwagoners.

I'll tell you that I by default cannot watch every game since they are between 1a.m. and 4 a.m.
I still get up from time to time or sleep late from time to time to catch games or watch them later. When I was younger the Lakers play would absolutely dominate my mood on a daily basis. As one grows older, it isn't so much the case anymore. I still love them like I always did and still follow every step but I don't get emotionally drained like I used to. I think thats also the key to the forum. Discussions are way better when there is no over reaction and the quality sucks when people have extreme highs and lows. One example being this thread.

I have friends that are Cavs/Browns/Indians fans, that if you asked them this question, they would laugh in your face.

How many bad seasons do those teams have combined, every year almost and people still support them, watch the games, etc.....

And we are sitting here talking about watching/supporting the LAKERS, as if it's a debate. :man3:

Perspective.....

I'll continue to watch Laker games. But I won't watch the other games or playoffs. I used to watch other teams just to see how the Lakers might match up with them. I won't be doing that this season cuz it won't matter since the Lakers won't be meeting them in the playoffs. But yes, when the Lakers are on TV I'll tune in.

I care a great deal about intellectual rights, so I don't stream for free. And I didn't spring for League Pass this year. I watch every game I can at home, occasionally go to BW3 if it's convenient, and I listen to every other one on the Audio Pass (which is free and legal).

When you've been a fan of the Raiders and Phillies for over 20 years, you stick with your team unless something extraordinary happens. The only time I stopped watching the Raiders was when they shafted Marcus Allen. I followed him in KC.

Kobe is gonna retire soon. Can we afford to miss any of his games?

As a fan I hate that this question is even asked.
For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.

Even if I have little faith in the outcome, I always feel a need to watch the games because:
a) I love basketball too much
b) I love LAKER basketball too much
c) I love being able to watch guys like Kobe & Nash live
"The first time I ever saw my uniform hanging in the locker I put it on right away, and it just felt like I was putting on golden armour. From that day forward, I just called it 'the golden armour', it just felt like there was something mystical and magical about it" - Kobe Bryant.

Darn right I'm gonna watch every game. I am a die hard Lakers fan, and I stick with my team through thick and thin. I love the Lakers, even when they are monumentally underachieving.
The End is nigh. Time for a total Cut and Shuffle. Kobe contract was a mistake...time to avoid making more. The future is here, whether we want it to be or not. An era is over, but for the death rattle, and it's time for the cycle to begin anew. Growth and change are scary and painful, but alas...nothing worth achieving comes easily.

I will watch every game that I can. I'm addicted to Lakers basketball. Taking away Lakers basketball is like taking away air, food and water.

Seriously, even when we are getting killed I can't help but to finish watching the game. Call me crazy, but I'm all in for the team no matter what.
