What are the odds of picking one of thos guys, I would love to see Odom in a Lakers uniform. But either one of thos would mean another championship.

I think our best shot is Malone, then Arenas. We pretty much told the world we're ready to get Arenas or Payton with our draft selections...

But I think realistically, we should and could get Malone and Arenas...

Yeah! I don't know about getting Malone. It just seem that he is not a good fit for L.A. I think the Lakers and Malone are going different directions.

Gilbert Arenas would be the only person from the list that I would really think would fit with the Lakers. He is pretty young, which would give the Lakers a upside at the point. I just think it's time to make this team a little younger for the future.

The other day (I think it was Tuesday June 24th) on 690 AM, Scott Howard Cooper (former writer for the L.A. Times) pretty much broke down where the major free agents will go this summer according to his preliminary sources. What he said was:

Jason Kidd is going to the Spurs
Gary Payton is going to the Lakers
Jermaine O'Neal is staying with the Pacers
Michael Olowakandi is going to the Spurs
Gilbert Arenas is going to the Nuggets
Elton Brand will stay with the Clippers
Karl Malone will stay with the Jazz (the Mavericks at the extreme outside)
Alonzo Mourning is going to the Mavericks

Considering he's been tapped into numerous credible sources over the years I would believe him long before I would beleive most of the other shlubs in the sports writing community.

Just thought you guys would like to know.

Arenas is out of our price range (I mean way out of the range) He's askinf for close to 7 mil a year. And from what I've heard about his off the court antics (ala faking illness and injury to get himself more playing time or protest coaching decisions) he just doesn't sound like Laker material.

This is the first I've heard of Odom and the Lakers in the same sentence. I hope it doesn't happen. Odom is just one joint away from being kicked out of the league! :man10:

Odom and Arenas are out of the question since they are both restricted free agents. The Clips and Warriors would simply match our offers.
