4-24.

Beyond the lack of PG defense, is Ron a main culprit of the teams offensive woes?

He's got to shoot better, plain and simple. He's really been our only reliable three point shooter this year. I'd like to see him be more patient at times on offense.

On the other hand, I can't be too mad at him, because he absolutely blanketed Hedo (2/7, 6 points, 4 TOs).

Slava laughed at the suggestion his skills might be affected by the down time. "Are you kidding?" he said. "Basketball is like ball. It's all a circle."

He hurt his thumb. And ontop of that he has lost ten pounds to deal with the Plantar Fasciitis in both of his feet.

He is talented enough to get out of his slump. I am confident that it wont take long for him to get into rhythm. It's a confidence thing with Ron, I feel like he hesitates a lot. He just needs one good game to break out of the funk.

Is a lot of tape. Not a big excuse, but might be effecting his shot a little.

He's a big reason our defense is amazing, and he's a big reason our offense blows. He doesn't know how to move without the ball, and he struggles to finish inside.

Sorry, but that makes no sense whatsoever. The lack of PG defense has zero impact on the offense. Missed shots are missed shots. Ron's not the only culprit there....how many wide open threes did the guards botch todays? How about all the easy chippies that all the bigs blew inside? How about the missed freethrows?

I honestly couldn't care less about Ron's offensive production as long as he keeps locking fools down.

another fan trying to hard to point fingers at the wrong things.
For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.

Most of the season he has been shooting poorly but then again he's here for the D.

Even though I love ron's lock down D, he still has to make his wide open shots period.
But "Is Ron a main culprit of the teams offensive woes?" No.
You can't really point your figure toward one player for lakers offense woes.

I tend to agree. His poor shooting last night was overrated in my opinion since he took only 5 shots. However, if he's going to take 10 shots I'll expect more production than what he gave against Orlando.

^^ I agree realdeal. I think it's the cumulative total that is freaking people out. I'll admit, it ain't pretty. He's got to stop with those contested, in-traffic drives into taller defenders. It rarely works out.

I'd be happy if Ron just stuck with the occasional post up against smaller guys and the wide open threes. He hits that crazy fall away every once in a while but it's not exactly high percentage. Around the rim against anyone taller he's atrocious right now with his lack of quicks and hops.

Artest needs to stop running after practice and games trying to lose weight and just practice Spot up shooting!

Artest also needs to start taking the "Right Shot" when its passed to him = Too often he hesitates and then dribbles 2 times to take a leaning horrible shot instead of taking the 1st wide open look.

At the end of season we need to go get 2 solid spot up shooters = there are plenty out there we just need to stop with the LA farm system / grooming and waiting to see if guys develop. ITs clear Farmar, Sasha, Adam, & Luke will never be what Lakers need ost for Kobe off of double and triple teams he recieves.

The thing is, his spot up shooting from three is pretty damn good. Especially when he takes the time to measure it up. It's his fall away and his drives into congestion that are pretty horrendous.

His losing weight has been great. I don't think he should do anything different in that regard. Was he really shooting a whole lot better earlier in the year when he was heavier? No. And has the weight loss helped his defense? Yes. So he should continue doing whatever he is doing to stay on his regimen in that regard.

Mainly, he needs to make better decisions about which shots he takes. One thing that went unnoticed though about last night was Ron was passing pretty damn well and had 5 assists. I can live with that part of his game. He only took 5 shots and dished 5 assists so that isn't so bad. The previous two games were painful.

I know he's dealing with bad feet, but I honestly think I could jump higher than Ron right now.... Trust me, that's saying a lot.

He really looks like he's physically struggling out there... His hands are quick & he's a smart position defender, but his body is just not cooperating right now.
