The thing is, you never hear an all-time great talking bad about Kobe, it's only sports writers. Bird, Kareem, Magic, Jordan, Baylor, West, you don't hear a bad thing about Kobe from any one of these guys and others. As already said, real recognizes real.

Actually Bird said the fact that Kobe has never won an MVP makes him "want to throw one of his away." Translation: MVP has become a joke with guys like Nash and Dirk winning it.

I recall that as well.

And he is right.

Im of the opinion that every sport needs diversity in its upper echelon of players (especially from a marketing perspective).

As many people that there are that arent racist...there are probably more who have an inability to be 100% colorblind and identify with their "tribe".

Not promising for the human race......

I'm kind of disappointed that Magic is disliking Kobe though because he's afraid he might go down as the best Laker ever and he blamed Kobe for the Shaq trade and so on. I mean, Bird said nicer things about Kobe than MAgic ever did. lol

Larry Bird is the one great who i think gets overlooked when it comes to the games greatest ever. sure he gets the nod at SF in everyones all time lineup by position, but rarely do people consider him whentalking greatest ever. His defense wasnt great by any means, but he had perhaps more intangables then anyone the games ever seen.

Not only was he clutch, but he hustled as much as any player ever. One of the games greatest "talkers" he motivated his players to be better and he was an underrated passer.

you need not look no further then our own Magic Johnson when looking for an honest opinion of Bird. "There will never, ever be another Larry Bird".

Big props to Kobe.

When was the last time a Kobe praise coming from Magic looked sincere to you? They look faker than Jordan's commercials. Anyone who was a Lakers fan and watched the games probably saw Magic during them not being that excited when Kobe was doing something. And also, we'd know that he favoured Shaq. You should watch Lakers games before bashing Kobe. I'm not a stupid groupie to praise him when he does wrong and I dislike backing him up when I shouldn't.

whats funny is the all time greats all respect kobe and will most likely welcome him into the 50 greatest players of all time

yet no life losers like airtight, bruceblitz, and greeninVT try to bring him down

i guess it shows the difference between basketball knowledge and blind hate fueled by clear and present ignorance
