We should hear more soon. If true, I'll take it. Cheap, productive player that could help us sneak in the playoffs if we're lucky.

I'm pumped up! :jam2: I wanted Boozer in the first place. I think he's the perfect veteran to help some of our younger guys at this stage in his career. Hopefully he's happy to come to LA and work for us. I know Kobe has said he liked him in the past. Now Randle has a guy who can kind of mentor him in the ways of being a big man below 6'10".

Our team is rounding out pretty decently down low all of a sudden.

Randle/Boozer/Kelly
Hill/Davis/Sacre

All we need to do now is round out our SFs and we're looking pretty groovy to me considering it's a rebuild.

good, so techincally we didn't lose Pau for nothing, Boozer amnesty is a byproduct of Pau signing. Chi could've saved some money if they would've given us a 1st rd pick and did a S&T. Oh well....thanks for the great years Pau, but you certainly didn't do us any favors leaving us for nothing.

I don't understand why we're buying up all these PF's. What's the point?

Does this mean they see Ryan Kelly as a SF? Randle/Davis/Boozer at PF and Hill/Sacre at C is a fairly crowded front court, unless they think Davis is really a C (he's not, he's way too skinny).

If nothing else Boozer can mentor Randle, I just hope that Kelly's money wasn't spent on him.

Now that I think of it, Davis would now be our primary backup C with Hill starting.

Hill/Davis/Sacre
Boozer/Randle/Kelly

Interesting after the Davis signing. We now have an official logjam at PF. I hope that the coach will be sure to give enough minutes to Randle to further his development. I'm guessing Davis will get his minutes at center.

How so, Davis played backup C with Memphis, and will probably back up Hill.

Boozer and Randle can share minutes together. Randle needs to ease into the NBA conditioning, and not force him to play 30+ minutes anyways. He'll get better, improve, and earn his spot on the starting lineup.

If Hill and Davis are our centers, then we're basically playing small-ball.

If that's the case, why did D'Antoni resign?

Davis can definitely play Center. He's not very heavy, but he's shown he can play there especially in today's "positionless" basketball.

Kelly might be able to play some SF and apparently I was wrong and revgen was right and Randle can play SF too. I thought he was going to be more PF than he's shown, but he looks like Lamar Odom Point Forward out there sometimes.

Either way, depth can't hurt us right now. Randle is a rookie. Hill and Davis haven't proven they can do 30+ minutes a night for a whole season. Carlos just helps round out a pretty decent front line.

Get a SF instead. But I guess for the price it's ok. I just don't want him to take minutes away from Randle. Somewhere Jack Haley is smiling.

I don't get how this is a bad signing?

A veteran who once averaged 20 and 10 in his career, still a productive player in his own right, and can mentor Randle.

We'll be short, but pretty athletic. The only team I can see that really can take advantage of us down low consistently will be Memphis. Most other teams have either mobile big men or stretch big men.

I would say we're moving into the realm of "position-less basketball" not small-ball. Hill and Davis can and have played Center in their careers effectively.

I would have preferred bringing back Kaman. We could have paid him exactly what Portland offered him.

Really smart move.. Good insurance for Randle if he isn't ready to be a fulltime starter right away.. Also a very good mentor who did alot to help develop Millsap & Gibson.
