Breaking News: Fox to Miss Rest of Postseason

Postby BDG on Mon Apr 28, 2003 3:47 pm

I was watching ESPN a couple minutes ago and they reported that Rick Fox will miss the rest of the postseason, and will have to undergo surgery to repair the torn tendon in his left foot. The direct link to ESPN.com's report of this is here: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/playoffs2003/story?id=1546089. DAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN!!!

The only good thing about this is we can finally see if George is worth all that money that was paid to him. He played really good defense on Wally S. yesterday so I am not that concerned. Maybe this is a blessing in disguise. But who is going to guard Stojakovic if we get that far? :man7:

That's just horrible news......It's not like we're super deep to begin with, and Rick usually comes alive in the playoffs. I'm VERY disapointed :mad1:

It's baaaaad :man6:

I think George will be able to take care of Wally...but Stoja???
Fox was the perfect Stojakovic stopper.

Can the Lakers replace Fox with Traci Murray?

Postby Fred on Tue Apr 29, 2003 9:47 am

I have a question for the group. Can you take a player off the injured list for the playoffs? Traci Murray is not a defensive force, but he is a great shooter and we need a great outside threat.

No you can't Fred. Once the lineups are turned in for the playoffs, that's it. Plus Murray wasn't much of a factor in the regular season anyway.

yeah he's too old and banged up. plus i dont think he can match up defensively against an offensive SF like wally or peja.

His defense is what will be missed. He's always been one of those major role players... Well George, step up baby...

d george REALLY stepped up and suffocated wally. only 9 pts and 4 TOs. that's good defense for a shooter like wally. and good job on hudson too. for some reason, brian shaw plays better defense than fisher and pargo do on hudson. he got shut OUT in da 2nd half
