I guess I'll say here what I said in the other thread. He was never my top choice, but I've always liked Scott, where I couldn't stand Brown or 'Antoni, ever. So at the very least I now like our coach going in, I'm good with the hire. As for the contract, seems like a very reasonable deal to me, in money and in years, especially with the team option for year 4. He should get all 3 years to try and build something here, even if we stink.

Lets do it!!!!!!!!1!!!!!! Bscott about to make Lin a star :jam2:
For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.

Coach throwing it down on Purvis Short (who had a crazy offensive game and was really underrated, but as you can see, he had no defense).

Definitely not thrilled about the hire since he wasn't my top choice, but he is definitely a hire I will be able to get root for easy unlike the last two. :jam2:

My top choice. The right guy for the position we're in. The right Laker for this job.

Let's start rounding out the assistants now.

I'm very stoked on this. After 3 years of torture I feel like we are least going to have a coach that will bring back some semblance of Laker ball. That's a good contract all around. Not too expensive, not too short that Byron can't build something, and not too long with that 4 year being a team option.

I'm really looking forward to this season. And I'm so thankful that Antoni and Mike Brown aren't here anymore!!

I love Byron the person and I think he will be a good coach for us and will give it his all.

Great news, I always liked Byron as a person and as a coach. Contract is great, well done Mitch. ....i would like to see Payton, Madsen, and also Big Game James as our assistants. Also LukeW can be good assistant I think. Maybe to try with him.
