Challange

javascript:emoticon('')Hey Laker fans,
I think even if we get a Karl Malone, P.J Brown, or Juwan Howard, none of these guys will be able to stop the Garnetts and Duncans. Also we're in need of a point, who can keep up with the speedy point guards in the league. The top two are Terry and Arenas, I think Terry would be more logical although i'd prefer Arenas. The Spurs are going to go for Jermaine Oneal or possibly even Jason Kidd. The Spurs line up will be deeper than ours next year. If the Spurs add Jason Kidd, he will find the open man and will get them more points per game. If the Spurs get Oneal, they'll add a more athletic pf, and possibly move duncan to center. So it won't be a cake walk next year.

Look at the comparisons

Pg Terry Vs Kidd Advantage Spurs
Fisher Vs Parker Adv. Spurs
Terry Vs Parker Adv. Even
Sg Adv Kobe whoever it may be
SF Pippenvs Bowen Adv Spurs
George vs Bowen Adv Even
Fox vs Bowen Adv Spurs
Pippen vs Ginobili Adv Spurs
George vs Ginobili Even
Fox vs Ginobili adv. Spurs
PFMalone/Brown/Howard/Medvedenko/Madsen/vs Duncan Adv Spurs
Laker Forwards vs J Oneal? Adv Spurs
C Oneal vs Duncan Adv. Even (Lakers if Shaq is 100 %)

The Lakers need Defensive Players that are quick and athletic. The offense will come.

Id like to see this roster I think it is very possible

Projected stats
J Terry Ppg 10, Apg 7 (ppg would go down because of Duo)
K Bryant 25 ppg 6rpg 6 apg (ppg may go down with new options)
D George 8 ppg 6rpg
PJ Brown 6 ppg 10rpg (ppg would go down because of Duo)
S. Oneal 27 ppg 11rpg
Fisher 6ppg (ppg would go down )
Rush 5ppg (A lias. The Spurs are going to go for Jermaine Oneal or possibly even Jason Kidd. The Spurs line up will be deeper than ours next year. Pargo 1ppg (wont get pt w/ terry and fish)
medvedenko 2ppg
Horry 5ppg
Fox 6ppg
Madsen 3ppg
Rookie 2ppg
Rookie 1ppg

Lakers estimated ppg is 107 pts per game.

As far as the draft I would pick up a big man like James Lang from High school, who will be available late in the draft. (Risky but Big, I think he weighs 315 Lbs, he has a lot of up side because of his dominance, he is a big body that can bang with nba players, great defensive rebounder, not a great leaper, but takes up space and is very strong, needs to lose weight, and is not finished learning.

Projected record 65-17

Will it be easy to win the championship?

No, San Antonio will be even harder next year.
Id prefer them to get Jason Kidd, because if they get Jermaine Oneal they'll win 65-70 games, and would have the most complete team in the league and have a strong link in every position, an athletic back court, Defensive SF's and the Best Front Court in the league.

We will need a healthy Shaq and Kobe and team chemistry in order to defeat the Spurs next year.

Will it happen?

Hell Yeah

The Lakers will come in focused, Shaq will be in Shape, Kobe will be unbelievable, and the cast will be better.

I wouldn't be surprised if Horttle more pt unless we use George)
Pargo 1ppg (wont get pt w/ terry and fish)
medvedenko 2ppg
Horry 5ppg
Fox 6ppg

I wouldn't be surprised if Horry, Rush, Pargo, Medvedenko, Madsen, Shaw, and Fox are gone, maybe we could use some of them to get a better draft selection.
That would be interesting.

Here is my wish list (probably won't happen)
Gilbert Arenas PG (most likely)
Gary Payton PG (Possibility)
Andre Miller PG (Long Shot)
Lamar Odom SF (Longer Shot)
Elton Brand PF ( Even Longer Shot)
Jason Kidd PG (Longest Shot)
Jermaine Oneal PF (No Chance)

What to look for next year

1. Kobe to lead the lakers
2. Shaq to be in Shape
3. New Cast
4. Kobe to be better defensively (Scary)
5. Kareem Rush feeling comfortable shooting
6. New rivalry against the Spurs
7. Old rivalry against the Kings
8. Shaq to shoot 65% Free Throws
9 To run the pick and roll more often with Shaq and Kobe
10. To play a little more uptempo than the last four years.

Look for the Lakers to lead the Pacific

Look for Kobe to win an MVP.
