In these dark times, Kam bros got jokes at least

@KamBrothers: Lakers needed a shooter and got one, of any caliber weapon. BK

@KamBrothers: RT @agroberman: Say what you will about Kaman's game, but it was pretty cool of him to agree to play for a year's supply of badger meat.

@KamBrothers: People always say you want a player you can take to battle. Kaman you can literally take to battle. BK #gotabunchofthese

@KamBrothers: Maybe they brought in Kaman to help facilitate blowing up the roster? BK #gotabunchofthese

^^ Ouch. Oh well, I'll take your word for it rydjorker. Maybe he can pick and roll? :man10: Gallows humor I know. Just trying to find some kind of silver lining.

What SF's, Ebanks is gone, Clark is gone, all we have is MWP who is rumored to be amnestied.

feel like the mini mle could have been better spent. not sure how Kaman works in dantoni's system on offense, and he's one of the worst defenders at c in the nba. worst.

I wanted the 3 million to go to a wing and a vet min to be used on a stopgap backup c, not the other way around.

between gasol, Kelly, sacre, and Kaman, the lakers have one of the least athletic pf/c rotations in a league that now prizes mobility at those spots. at least hill's still here.

If we stink at the half of the season( which we probably will) I'm sure he's tradable to a contender. He's wont be making much and he's at least a decent center.

The guy has a hilarious personality. I like that. But Mark Madsen, Luke Walton, and Robert Sacre all have good personalities. Same reason why you don't hire a likable person for a job--you need to hire someone who gets the job done. Kaman to me is almost in the Madsen-Walton-Sacre category.

Well, some reasoning behind this I buy

@KamBrothers: Basically, if you think Kaman is better than the wing players available and you want to keep Gasol (surgery) healthy, you sign him. BK

@KamBrothers: Also, keep in mind the definition of "available" includes people who will accept your terms -- nobody gets more than 1 year. BK

If we're only offering one year deals, no exceptions, we're not getting the best available mini MLE level players.

hes not the answer to our problems but could be a solid backup big and would prob benefit from playing with Nash.

That's fine and all... but now what do you do about the wings? We're relegated to having to keep Artest now and we STILL don't have competent backup SGs OR SFs...

Oh I agree, I don't agree with the reasoning, I just understand it. When our FO says they are all in for 2014 they MEAN all in. We're gonna end up filling the roster with Sasha, Odom, Morris and d-leaguers. Hell if we hasn't had a falling out or whatever with Ebanks I bet they'd bring him back. They've thrown in the towel on this season, I feel bad for Nash more than anyone, this isn't what e signed up for. If I were him I'd ask for a trade he doesn't deserve to go out like this.
