If he keeps the beard the Lakers should play the CAPTAIN CCCCCCCCCCCAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE MAN! after each time he scores.
For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.

Who would have thought a mere several days ago after Dwightmare part II ended badly ..... errrrr possibly the best way for us in the long run, that the "morgue and doom" atmosphere around here (most definitely me included) would have suddenly been transformed to oh hell yeah let's do these guys Mitch is lining up (Jim must be signing off) and have a no pressure, go for it, kick some bleep, earn your next contract, FUN season coming up. Set yourself up for the empty payroll and see what Kobe and the Lakers come up with for him and the team for 2014. I think he's going to surprise a lot of us.

Lakers F.O... SCOREBOARD!!

Well.... after rydjorker121's awesome, complete, knowledgeable scouting reports on Kaman and Farmar, hope to hell Sacre of all people has improved and can work Kaman's sorry butt to get better on defense and many other lacking capabilities. I honestly thought he was better than that. Come on Dude!!?? Work him Sacre..... bleep....maybe you can be better and take his minutes. At least maybe he gets better. :bang:

Same with Nash. Wow, see if you can smarten the hell up this (physically) talented point guard in Farmar to get his head on straight and become a valuable player for us.

Out

Debbie

How much does Kaman have in the tank? He was a solid player when he played for the cotenants but I have heard little from him the last 3 seasons.

The Los Angeles Lakers have signed free agent center Chris Kaman, it was announced today by General Manager Mitch Kupchak. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not released. Kaman, a 10-year NBA veteran out of Central Michigan University, has averaged 11.8 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.38 blocks in 606 career games (510 starts) with the Los Angeles Clippers, New Orleans Pelicans and Dallas Mavericks.

“We’re pleased to be able to add a big man of Chris’ caliber to the roster for the upcoming season,” said Kupchak. “He’s a versatile center who defends well, goes hard to the glass and can score both in the paint and from mid-range while also being a high character guy and solid locker room presence.”

Originally selected by the Clippers with the sixth overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft, the 7-foot, 265-pound center has scored better than 10 points per game in each of his last eight NBA seasons and is one of only 13 players since entering the league to record at least 7,000 points, 4,000 rebounds and 800 blocked shots.

Named to the 2010 Western Conference All-Star team in a season in which he ranked 25th among league leaders in scoring, 14th in rebounding and 23rd in blocked shots, Kaman, a dual citizen of the United States and Germany, was also a member of the German National Team that competed at Eurobasket 2011 and the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.

Appearing in 66 games (52 starts) with the Mavericks last season, Kaman averaged 10.5 points and 5.6 rebounds in a career-low 20.7 minutes while shooting above .500 from the field (.507) for the third time in his career.

According to My Synergy Sports, Dwight, who posted up 45.2% of the time (way too high) averaged 0.74 points per possession (worst in the league) and turned the ball over 18.2%. Only 11.4% of his offense derived from the pick-and-roll, where he averaged 1.29 points per possession and turned it over 10% of the time.

Kaman isn't Dwight but that could be a good thing with our roster

His midrange shots numbers from 08 to 13 are very good ( doesn't take a lot of these though)...

The Pau/Kaman duo can work well offensively

Yes. I am kind of looking for an accurate "middle ground"(if it exists.... maybe not) on expectations for Kaman. Our internal, consistently high quality "scouting report" on him was scathing for all intents and purposes. Really bummed me out as I had general impression he was a pretty decent center past his prime a little. But then I'm not nearly as knowledgeable with detailed "scouting" and have not seen a lot of him lately.

So is he really that bad with only a useful mid range J and sucking hard at everything else, and Mitch is full of crap with what he is saying after spending full mimi mid level contract on him for at least this year???

I'm hoping he's at least a little better than the internal report?
