Uh, Mitch... What... ?

Yes. I am kind of looking for an accurate "middle ground"(if it exists.... maybe not) on expectations for Kaman. Our internal, consistently high quality "scouting report" on him was scathing for all intents and purposes. Really bummed me out as I had general impression he was a pretty decent center past his prime a little. But then I'm not nearly as knowledgeable with detailed "scouting" and have not seen a lot of him lately.

So is he really that bad with only a useful mid range J and sucking hard at everything else, and Mitch is full of crap with what he is saying after spending full mimi mid level contract on him for at least this year???

I'm hoping he's at least a little better than the internal report?

He's an underrated passer and understands the game. He's not that good laterally and that hurts him on defense. He's a good position rebounder and a decent position defender except against athletic bigs.

His turnover rate is refreshingly low.....

He can shoot from the elbow and even out to about 18 feet. He's got decent footwork in the post and shoot free throws very well for a big.

If he stays relatively healthy I'd expect somewhere around 11 and 7 from him depending on where he is in the rotation. If he's playing over 30 minutes it might even be higher.

Very cool. I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do for us on the floor. It'll be nice to have an actual bench this season (knock on wood).

I hope he can stay healthy this season, because if he can he's as solid a backup center as you can get and Pau will need to be able to be rested. He reminds me of a not skinny Chris Mihm, he can shoot (though he didn't shoot a good percentage tonight), and he has post moves, but isn't a great athlete or defender. Still, he was moving well, not as slow as I anticipated. He did get 10 boards as well, he can't jump, but he can box out and use his size.

He can still shoot and stretch the floor a little, which is great. He played better then I expected actually. Just needs to stay healthy.
