Forget about the fact we lost Dwight. He's not "replacing" Dwight. He's a solid pickup.

Then what do you want?

denimPortugal wrote:So, our starting center will be Pau Gasol! We're screwed...seriously! :bang:

Bring back A-Bomb! :jam2:

You don't want Pau at Center, not Kaman, would you be alright with Sacre?

We have the Vet. min and mini-MLE with many more needs to be filled. If it's for the minimum it's a good signing.

:bang: There are so many other free agent centers available! You're telling me we couldn't get Bynum or Pekovic on a one-year minimum deal?!

Good signing.

@KamBrothers: If nothing else, the Lakers will never be short on crossbows. AK MT @ESPNSteinLine: Lakers, Chris Kaman have agreed to one-year deal.

Any chance TWC redo the D12/Mitch Backstage Lakers Promo commercial, but with Chris instead of Dwight?

That we could get anyone even halfway decent to sign here on a one year deal is impressive enough, I don't dislike the signing at all, one year rental backup big.

Well it's a nice pick up at backup Center, though we still need a player to be a 3rd string shooting guard in case kobe can't come back by the start of the season.
I should get an assist for that. It's an intentional pass to oneself, so it's an assist. That way people can't say all I do is shoot.

Meeks fits the 3rd string role pretty well, let's get a backup 2.

I've always liked Kaman's game. If he can stay healthy, he'll be a decent pick up for us.

Hill/Odom/Kelly
Pau/Kaman/Sacre

Should be good for a laugh at least. And if people really can't stand him, it's ok because he's likely to get injured and miss a bunch of games anyway.

You know, if that lineup stayed healthy they'd be worth a darn. :man10:

Too bad we're just an old, old team and even with Kobe coming back at some point, we're just going to be this old farty team that can't keep up in most games. :man10:

I just posted this lineup in the Lamar Thread, without even seeing this. I think it's probably the best we could do, save an Elton Brand or Kenyon Martin coming for the minimum.

We have nothing but the minimum to spend and fill up the SG/SF depth and 3rd string PG spot (gonna need one with oldies Nash/Blake on the team)

The tank is on!!! :jam2: :jam2: :jam2: :jam2:

^ Agreed. And I'd be happy to support that team. With no expectations of greatness or winning games? I'm going to have a much more relaxed approach to Laker basketball than I did last season.

The price to pay for wing players so far in FA and the fact that we aren't going to be serious contenders next year, it's not surprising we probably couldn't snag anyone with that. It's just not enough unless you are a team that is in serious contention.

If we thought last years team was old I think this one will be even older now that we only have veteran minimums to offer. :man10:

Yeah that's true. Well hopefully we can get some guys like CDR, Sasha, and Goudelock for the minimum then.
