It is not because Steve Nash is injured, it is more because he is 38, and we would need him in shape for the Play-Offs (I assume that not playing 35 mpg during the Regular Season).
We lacked of a quick PG in the last years, and I think that Jonny Flynn could be a good (different) backup for the PG position, a kind of player to "break" the games from the bench.
He is young, quick, cheap... and available. He was selected in 2009 Draft with Pick 6. He averaged 13.5 ppg in his "rookie" Season.
I know that we have some problems in the SF position, but I always thought that a quick PG or "microwave" could be a good addition for the bench.
I am surprised that he is still available, Is he worth it?
