Well that's how I meant to say it, if THIS is his team going forward I'm scared. If he had a better one around him I would be less worried. I thought he played very well, not great, but very well, good defense, shots a solid percentage, got boards. But yeah, I still don't see that fire from him, that take charge want to win attitude coming out.

Seriously, that's how ORL got to the finals. Formula works. If it hadn't been for the black mamba and his Lakers, D12 would have title already.

Dwight was fine today. A little bit of foul trouble, but it was a decent game.

Best Lakers in the game. He did not get too much help though.

Were there two of him? Hey Dwight, welcome to Kobe's world you number one, franchise stud you. (excuse the sarcasm Big guy....really directed at someone else). Good effort....keep it up. If you could add that little short J to your game this summer it would help you a lot. Seriously you have to know by now you need more moves. Work work work!!

While Dwight had a good game it's evident that he's not the kind of player that can carry a team. He's a great complementary piece but jumping on his back will end you short of the "chip" I'm afraid.

He needs the help of 3 others on a constant basis to get the looks he can make consistently.... he doesn't possess the game to score through a double team like Shaq had and he can't face up and force the defense to change either.

He's a great rebounder, definitive defensive presence and can put teams in foul trouble. He just needs positioning to score, and can't create it with the ball. But if LA continues to do the Blake/Pau PnR, Dwight doesn't have to do anything superhuman to win.

how many bigs other than dirk score consistently over double teams. most pass it out and re-post or pass it out for a 3

dwight made the right plays on a consistent basis, his teammates let him down. this game is nowhere near on him. he's the kobe bryant of this game. free of blame

He did his part, playing effectively on the post until the double game to which he passed it for an open three. If only our "shooters" could hit wide open shots.

Chill, it's not "complaining", it's discussion / analysis, you know, the point of having a forum... it doesn't just come down to "good game / bad game", otherwise, wtf are we doing here?

Me neither but I think that he's not necessarily comfortable with himself either. I think with another summer of health will go a long way to that attitude adjustment. I don't think he's got quite the right confidence right now.

I think once we've rebuilt though, he's going to be a great piece.

We need to have Dwight living in the post when Gasol isn't in the game & he's surrounded by shooters to pass to out of the double. Have Nash/Blake/Clark/Jamison out there when you're going to D12 in the post alot. Insert Meeks & MWP when they're knocking down shots.I'm not saying decrease Pau's role, but when Pau gets his rest we need to post D12 up every time down & play like his Magic teams.

Thinking the same thing. We never truly got to see Dwight at 100% yet. He'll never be Shaq, but when he gets to put in a full summer's workout like he normally does, he'll still be an integral piece for this Laker's future championship teams (aka next season :man12: ).

Does he do, or does he don't do the shoulder surgery to fix the labrum.....has anyone heard anything definitively? What is the recuperative time frame for that?

Seems like either way, plus the back situation now, that he won't be able to get crazy with the heavy weights this off season, maybe ever again (?). In lieu of skills practicing. Which might not be so bad of a thing if he puts the same effort in there.

Pretty sure a torn labrum wont affect all weight training. Doing lateral shoulder raises may be out of the question. But I'm pretty sure he can do other things.

The decision to do the surgery or not should be based upon how long before he'll be able to lift. It's important he gets back the 20lbs or so of muscle he lost from not lifting

Dwight got boards, he defended, he scored (only player to shoot over 50% I believe from the Lakers) He did a great job at being patient & attacking when the double was late & also to lure in the double to kick it out, unfortunately we have 0 shooters...

Between him and Pau, they got 28 FGA combined. That doesn't happen very often when Kobe is on the floor. Our frontcourt is our biggest advantage.

It doesn't matter if Kobe is on the court or not, the ball needs to be worked through the bigs.

That's not true at all. If you're being precise, that is. And I don't think 28 is some magic number of FGA that results in better play.

I looked at the 9 game before we lost Kobe - not one game did those two have less than 20 FGA combined. In fact a lot of those games they had at least 25 FGA combined. Even the Portland game, for example, when Kobe exploded for 47.
