Of course Ron trolls him and nails a 3. :man10:

Still though it's nice to see Dwight actually demanding for the ball, instead of standing on the weak side the whole game only to complain about not getting the ball.

I was pissed off when that happened. Sure, Ron made the shot, but you have to reward the big man for running the floor and sealing his man.

It's why I said in another thread Ron artest is the biggest issue on the team

Dwight and pau complain about shots? Well Kobe is going to and deserves to get his, Nash doesn't shoot a ridiculous amount, Clark takes what's given too him.

So where is the issue, artest. Artest is 2nd on the team in FG attempts when he's arguably the 5th best player at best 6th or 7th at worst. He's also disrupting fastbreaka thinking he's Lebron James dribbling up the court trying to go coast to coast.

And don't forget his black hole moments where he holds the ball for 15 seconds trying to penetrates when he never will.

Artest hasn't sacrificed this season he's taken more. Rick fox would be feeding Dwight while Kobe could just play his game

^^^ I fully agree with you guys. D12 has every right to be ticked off and Ron is a blackhole, which is detrimental to the team.

The complaining that I don't like is when they stand around and then complain after the game about not getting touches. Well you can't get touches if you are standing at the 3 point line (Pau) or with your heels on the baseline (D12).

However, D12 has every right to be ticked off in a situation where he's making plays in the post, playing defense and has established position. I wouldn't care if he went up and slapped Ron upside the head. He should have got the ball in that situation 100%.

Metta is terrible ... you could see Nash was pissed off at the start of the "5 seconds call" possession and wanted the ball ... Kobe too ... then they knew Metta wasn't going to pass the ball ...

The 3 he made was a horrible decision and D12 had every right to be pissed off ...

Metta dumb play cost us a solid 5-6 games this season

I'm hoping we amnesty his cancerous butt this off-season. His cute little steals he gets every now and then don't make up for his idiotic decision making that kills our momentum every time.

Really loving this turn Dwight's attitude seems to have made. Dr. Buss, even in passing, making a positive impact on our team.

its just a nuisance. he's taken more than 11 shots 33 games this season out of 56 games. i really think his shooting is what caused all of the dwight frustration because it just compounds. kobe takes 20+ shots and guess what ron artest takes another 12 shots suddenly its 30+ shots taken.

he has exacerbated everything. defensive woes, lack of ball movement. it's led to losses, lack of shots to go around, bad defensive rotations.

he has his good moments, and he disguises his issues with a good lockerroom personality but his on the court play has hurt us this season

^^^^ pb is everybody has a free license to shoot AND opponents don't pay much attention to him because they know he won't stop shooting/making bad decisions ..

This is still mindblowing nobody has put Metta back in his place and told him to give up the rock in some situations ( like trying to run the fastbreak) though.

Dwight has 2 games in a row with decent energy and drive and he has the right to yap at one of the two players that has given the team everything in his tank on a nightly basis?..... :bang:

Howard has been a disturbance from day one..... wanting this and wanting that.... showing stat sheets to anyone who will look.... going to the press.... and everything else this Drama Queen wants to keep the spotlight on him while MWP has quietly put together a decent season and has showed up and played every night.

Last nights win was catalyzed by MWP's defense and a fantastic 3 point play late in the game. Howard's 7 misses from the line nearly sunk us.....

We would have lost last night without his play down the stretch......

He comes to play ervery night....... Other than Kobe that can't be said about any other Laker regular.

Well damn. How the world turns in LA. Dwight finally brings the energy (which I love) and fans turn from hating him back to hating MWP. Howard had a right to be annoyed with Ron for taking that 3 when Dwight had great deep position. Other than that he really can't say anything to Ron. I'll be on an island with very few when I say, MWP has come to play with energy, effort and DEFENSE every, yes EVERY, game this season. The guy is killing it on the defensive end and has stopped settling for the 3. Lets see Dwight bring it a few more times with success before we start putting others heads on the chopping block.

For the record.... I support consistency in effort and don't support manipulation and self centered effort.

Players that fall into those categories I will support and not support. I'm not picking players then looking for supportable aspects to defend when they are acting like spoiled children. When Howard brings this for the last 2 months on a consistent basis then we'll talk.

Right now we have two games against teams with PF playing center and we won one convincingly and the other by the skin of our teeth. I don't see that much has changed in a meaningful way. That game last night was so similar to so many others this year.

And the issue I have with this is that Ron brings it every night and Dwight has not. How do you justify supporting the guy who only played based on how many touches he got but don't support the guy who plays his a** off regardless if he gets 1 shot or 50 shots? I am like Roos in that I support guys who are going to bring it no matter how great they play. I expect more from our stars but the crucial aspect is bringing effort, fire and a will to put it on the line for the team. MWP may take some "what the heck" shots but most of his come within the flow of the offense. I can deal with a missed shot. I can't deal with missed effort. Dwight has not brought it all year. Now he is but he has a long way to go to prove he is putting the real time in, IMO that is.

couple of reasons

one is i remember the guy from orlando, and that guy was one of the best players in the league. he hasn't been that guy but my belief is the reason is physical mostly with some mental sprinkled in.

two I understand that dwight is 27, there is potential there, artest is not part of the future of this franchise and despite his effort his production has been below average especially defensively, and offensively he's been disruptive.

three i have faith dwight will turn it around mentally, and with an offseason physically and see #1 for why i find that to be something excited about.

four. this dwight we've seen for the past 2 games is barely getting into range of his orlando self. the effort is there like orlando but physically he's still not even close to himself. he's still small, he's still not anywhere near his bouncy self and his stamina is still a work in progress. a healthy dwight is twice the player of the dwight we've seen this season and still noticeably better than the guy we've seen the past 2 games. that's why i defend him. artest i like him as a person, i do think he's a positive locker room influence but on the floor he's a disruption, every bit as much as dwight off the court. effort is nice, but it doesn't excuse disrupting basketball movement and ineffectiveness on a consistent level defensively.

Was anyone watching Ron on defense last night? he SHUT DOWN Lamarcus.

You guys do realize how important that was, don't you? LMA is 6'11 and Ron is 6'7.....give the man some credit. He used his strength to torment LMA.

We all know that he is an offensive black hole, but give credit where credit is due. He also seems to come up with timely offensive production....going back to Game 7 vs BOS of the 2010 NBA Finals.

We all criticize him, but he really does bring it on D. There are some he is too old/slow to guard...but his instincts and strength make up for it some of the times.

"last stand"

couple of reasons

one is i remember the guy from orlando, and that guy was one of the best players in the league. he hasn't been that guy but my belief is the reason is physical mostly with some mental sprinkled in.

So you give him a pass on his attitude (crying for more touches) because he has been in recovery?

two I understand that dwight is 27, there is potential there, artest is not part of the future of this franchise and despite his effort his production has been below average especially defensively, and offensively he's been disruptive.

True Dwight is 27 and has a lot of career ahead of him. However, MWP has been our best defender all season. He isn't disruptive he shoots the available shots. sometimes he takes bad shots but so do all the players (except Pau and Blake who hardly shoot). I question how you watch the game if you say Ron has been below average on defense.

three i have faith dwight will turn it around mentally, and with an offseason physically and see #1 for why i find that to be something excited about.

That is all "hope" but the fact is Dwight has not shown until recently that he even understands what it takes to play in LA. Ron has proven he knows and has done it for "THIS" team. Dwight, has not.

four. this dwight we've seen for the past 2 games is barely getting into range of his orlando self. the effort is there like orlando but physically he's still not even close to himself. he's still small, he's still not anywhere near his bouncy self and his stamina is still a work in progress. a healthy dwight is twice the player of the dwight we've seen this season and still noticeably better than the guy we've seen the past 2 games. that's why i defend him. artest i like him as a person, i do think he's a positive locker room influence but on the floor he's a disruption, every bit as much as dwight off the court. effort is nice, but it doesn't excuse disrupting basketball movement and ineffectiveness on a consistent level defensively.

So basically you made excuses for Dwight and turned around crucified Artest? That doesn't make sense. Ron isn't nearly a disruption on the floor as dwight has been off the floor. I'm sorry that doesn't make a ton of sense.

The truth is, D12 has hardly been in a position to criticize other players this year. I truly appreciate him stepping it up last couple games, but it has to be consistent.

He shouldn't be criticizing anyone at this point.

I also had an epiphany, D12 is going to sign an extension. For sure.

I pointed out exactly what Howard is and has done last year when everyone was blinded by some dunks, a cape and a phone booth. Now he's our problem and doing those same things and MWP is the problem?

Interesting that you pick on the player that is least like Dwight in his approach to the team and game to single out.

As for what I've done without your revisionist history.... I said on numerous occasions that getting Howard straight up was something we should do....... You, along with quite a few others were wanting to trade Pau AND Bynum for him. I have never defended Bynum's antics..... I didn't act like a jilted teenage girl like a lot here....... Maybe my reasonable reaction confused you.
