^Thanks Rock for posting those highlights!

Los Angeles Lakers ‏@Lakers

Kupchak indicates the team had @KingMe_DJ1 somewhere between 30-40 on their board. Selected him with the 55th pick.

Even if he does well in the summer league I doubt MB will give him mins. Prob still go with Blake for some stupid reason.

DJO & Glock are gunna be competing for a spot in the rotation as prob only 1 will get backup 1 or 2 spots if MB plays them. Would LOVE to see him and glock on the floor together of we really just need scoring and juice into our offense. guess well see how summer league goes

I really like DJO. I wish his PG skills were stronger but his O is solid and he's a tenacious defender, like all Marquette guys recently.

And he actually has range, he basically is Glock with the athleticism.

I feel bad for Goudelock, now he has to step up big time in order to prove his worth, because Odom is looking way better than Glock ever has.

Glock can barely dunk, barely got any PT, and now we got a Glock clone with a 40 inch vertical?

Let's hope this move helps our bench.

we neeeeeeeeed bench scoring, that's our priority this off-season, I hope we could dump Pau and Blake for a top 10 rookie and 2 solid role players (I know it's kind of not what we've expected, but I'd rather build around Bynum with proven players than switch Pau for another player outside of Deron (which we're not getting))

The Lakers paid Dallas about $500,000 for the rights to Darius Johnson-Odom.

A 6'3” shooting guard ? If he could play as point then would be nice LOL

Still better than Andrew Goudelock and Darius Morris right :man13:

It would be nice to have Glock and DJO in at the same time with Kobe / Hill / Bynum. Can't double off anyone in that lineup.

Granted Glock works on his PG game and DJO actually sticks.

But it's Mike Brown so that won't happen, so I shouldn't have even brought it up.

For some reason, I think we Mitch may have gotten a steal with this guy. He can shoot lights out, athletic, and can play defense. I didn't get this excited about our draft prospects this year, but I'm more inclined to believe this guy can get some playing time next year and contribute right away.

We don't believe you, you need more people. I am not impressed with a point guard who can't, as of yet, run the point.

^^^Very true. However, from what he said last year he stated the reason that Glock didn't play was because he was a defensive liability. If Johnson-Odom proves that he can play defense at an NBA level, then I pray that Mike isn't dumb enough to keep him on the bench.

He's 6'2" he's a point guard period. Only way he's checking a SG is in transition cross matches. In fact he's smaller than quite a few point guards. Bravado and athleticism only get you so far, eventually you need to fill the role that has been given to you.

Thanks for posting the videos Rock. Apparently DJO never actually misses. :man12:

Kid looks solid. He seems to have a strong motor, he's built a little like Fish was as a rookie. I like his handles, first step, and his stroke looks smooth. Who knows, maybe Mitch found a bench spark for 12 minutes a game to give Kobe a breather.
