Nevermind Shelbourne did too... why couldn't they [Swearing is not permitted at Clublakers. You must edit this post prior to submitting.] trade him and get value back????

Ugh. Man... this season...

Damn, we just wave him? Didn't we trade to get the guy, and we just waive him, give him zero chance to see what he has in the NBA ? I can see some other team picking him up and making a nice bench scorer out of him now. I hope this means a signing or trade is happening despite what they said.

Well if we are moving Gasol, we will probably get multiple contracts back, so what she's being told about not "adding" a player might not be entirely true.

Sucks, though; thought the dude had talent, heart, speed, energy, athleticism... things we don't really have. :man3:

DJO got drafted in the 2nd round; we paid 500,000 for his draft rights from Dallas, send him down to the D-league where he is showing signs of promise and we just cut him without seeing what he can do? They also waive him at a time when Dwight, Pau, and Hill get injured. I don't buy what the Lakers are telling Romona. Something may not be in the works this month but we're preparing to move some pieces.

Last year, around the trade deadline there was a source that stated, we were the most active team on the phone to see what we could do to improve the roster. Now, with a worse record, pieces that seemingly don't fit, players that aren't doing anything on our bench with deadweight contracts, anybody who wouldn't expect us to do anything is very naive.

I don't get this at all, unless as mentioned by some that Mitch is planning on some moves. Otherwise it makes zero sense. Even more, why the hell didn't we cut Ebanks?

Got to be a move in the works, no matter what Shelbourne was told. I know I'm contradicting myself with her earlier reports with the Dwight/Kobe situation, but when it comes to Mitch there's always a plan.

I've got to believe this means we're looking to trade someone. We might not be signing someone (although Kenyon would be nice right about now), but I think this has to mean a trade.

What I don't get is why we didn't try to at least trade the kid for a draft pick or something...

Lakers have problems, they just waived a player with Martin & Delonte available, I doubt this was just a deadline move.

They should waive Morris and Ebanks as well. Try and get rid of as much dead weight as possible.

Scoring 21 points a game on 43% shooting in the d-league, isn't exactly a whole lot of promise. His 3PFG% is decent, but nothing really indicates that he would improve our team in the nba. Would rather have CDR.
Move along ho, Super Lakers don't hang out with no skanks.

lakers have bigger issues than finding out whether a d league all star is anything more than a scrub. seems like some kind of roster move will happen, there's no reason to just cut a player otherwise regardless of what ramona shelbourne says. i have faith in mitch

DJO was hot garbage...he was athletic but athletic undersized 2 guards are dime a dozen.

Seems like either a trade is coming or we'll be signing K-Mart while the bigs are all out.

Feel the same. Dude was getting a lot of hype. And why can't we have hold on to developing young talent?

I don't think they had the intentions of waiving him for a couple reasons....

1.) They paid extra cash, 500k, just to draft him.

2.) Brown didn't even play him in preseason and he still stuck around

3.) IMO he was drafted as a project on a stacked team that was supposed to be deep enough that he could develop.

Injuries, losing and the giant elephant in the room screaming for a trade has forced the Lakers FO to cut the ties on him because there will be a shake up.

If D12/Hill/Pau didn't all get hurt at the same time, I think Sacre might have been out the door as well. But we need him so he's going to get guaranteed.

mitch & buss are getting ready to blow this whole thing up big time. they are cutting ties with all long term money and don't even want djo's little money on the books. get prepared to just see mgmt. write this season off and trade pieces for picks and expirings.

Aren't Morris and Ebanks fully or partially guaranteed?.....
