Darius Morris Discussion

Hes much much better in the open court. In the half court he just drribbles, crosses over, brings it back, step back, dribble, crossover like he doesn't know where he's going and the defenders are going under the screen every time on him and he over dribbles into the teeth of the defense because he has no jumpshot or midrange game or floaters

Jordan Hill is not a scrub. He's one of the better backup bigs in the league.

I wouldn't call Jordan Hill a scrub, he was playing great for us off the bench. Most of the time he was averaging close to 10 & 10.

If you look at his last 20 games I'd agree..... but his career as a whole isn't much to look at... was it a "contract year" thing or did two other teams that needed front court players both miss on evaluating him?... I'm not sure he's capable of repeating those number on a consistent basis over a whole season...

As a 4th big, in a bench group that had a scorer and a true back-up center then he's a valuable player IMO... as the first big off the bench....... yikes!...

Hill isnt a scrub, we used to have Brian Cook, think about that.

Well I do agree with that..... but Cook will be entering his 10 year in the league..... Will Hill be around that long?....

Play like that every game and the minutes Moris got last season and Blake would be eating the amnesty, while Morris would be the backup PG.

Consistency.........

Don't get your hopes up.... that wasn't the real Morris you saw out there.... he'll never do that again even in the 3 on 3 tournaments he'll be in next year on the beach....

There's that frustrating flash of potential again, that will most likely still never pay off as Roos said.

I think the big problem I have with Morris is that he doesnt seem to have any foundation to build upon. For instance, Glock we already know is a scorer. Everything else may be suspect but he is effective with the floater and 3 pt shot.

What is Morris good atm exactly? He isnt terribly quick; cant shoot, cant defend, cant pass ... what is it that Morris does well that he can build from?

Well, he is tall, pretty strong, I think he can pass, has good handles, that's something to build on, he just plays too out of control.

Ohh I'm not, that's why I said consistency........something that Morris has zero of. :man10:

Smart A** comments aside.... (mine that is... :man1: )

He wasn't consistent in College either if I remember correctly.... He looks overmatched all of the time. He did have a decent game but overall he isn't NBA talent... I'm not sure what the front office is thinking with him.... we've let much better players walk....

^^^I'm at the point not with just Morris, but with all the little project players we have going on right now. I'd take 5 NBA vet. min players off the bench right now, then having to pay some of these guys to be part of the team.

Just looking at the guys that made peanuts last season.....

Delonte / Willie Green / Pietrus / Diaw / Amundson....

I'd take that bench all day every day then the all crap Laker D-league team of Blake / Morris / Glock / Eyenga / McFly / Sacre / Ebanks / DJO...who for the most part are taking up roster spots and cap space. I'd be fine cutting ties with all of them and bringing in some proven vets.

Fully agree..... add a guy like Nate into the mix as well.... although I'm not sure if we get Jamison we need a scoring only guard off the bench.... but he can be explosive at times...
