If you come hard with your opinions but remain respectful, no one would complain.

Well... he's really more like a SG (He is 6-4 after all) who doesn't have great handles. But he can't really shoot either.
That's what's known as a "Smush Parker".

Smush would dribble circles around Morris

Offense
For a PG, his handles are highly suspect, and he doesn't handle being pressured very well. His passing is poor, especially under duress, and he lacks even the basic court vision you would need to make a play. More often than not, he dribbles himself into trouble and then turns it over trying to pass it off. He has a long way to go in this department...he needs to spend time in D-League learning how to play PG.
Defense
His lateral quickness and reaction time are not NBA caliber, his defensive stance is too high, and while he some length, it's not enough to make up for his lack of quickness. He's got size, and maybe if he had a post game he could back down the other PG...but I've never seen it. He can make a layup and shoot that baseline three.
Duhon isn't a world beater, but at least he's an NBA caliber guard....that's a couple notches above what Morris is right now. So why is Morris the first guard off the bench?

I Hate Darius Morris wrote:Okay, so I just joined this forum specifically to talk about how terrible Darius Morris is. Here's an example of why:
Tonight, against the Jazz, the Lakers were cutting into the Jazz's lead with about 7 or 8 minutes to go in the fourth. The lead was only about 4 or 5 points ("Coach" Mike Brown should have put the starters back in at this point, but that's a different issue). The Jazz were out of sync and it looked like the Lakers were going to make a run at it. However, Darius Morris had his own plan for how to handle the next 45 seconds. First, he got burned by Randy Foye on a three pointer after an ill-advised gamble for a steal. Foye was heating up at this point, and should not have been left alone, regardless of what else was happening on the floor. Less than 10 seconds later, Morris jacked up a three with 18 seconds on the shot clock that, needless to say, clanged off the back of the rim. A few seconds later, he got burned AGAIN by Foye on a three pointer after ANOTHER ill-advised gamble for a steal. This put the Lakers in an 11 point hole that they never recovered from. Thus, Morris single handidly blew the game tonight.
The moral of this story? Darius Morris is terrible and does not even belong in the D-League. I don't care how young he is.
