Maybe.... but most of the time having Morris on the floor is like 6 on 4.....

Phil has liked guys like Livingston (tall defender, decent ball handler, can get in the lane -though not a great shooter or finisher -- he is better than Morris). Also, Pietrus -- can defend guys like Pierce, Butler, Ray Allen, and even make Durant and Bron work, and can hit the 3 in clutch moments (probably better than Ron --just my guess). At least he knows his role -- defend and spot up at the corner. Ron is a tool.

Waive Clark or Sacre and Morris (eat more salary), release DJO.

Sign Livingston (to play a combo position), Pietrus (mostly at 3 but some at 2), and Kenyon.

Nash, Blake, Livingston, Duhon
Kobe, Meeks, Pietrus, Livingston
Ron, Pietrus, Kobe, Ebanks
Gasol, Antawn, Martin, Hill
Dwight, Hill, Gasol, Martin

Phil and his crew can make that work very well, offensively, defensively, limiting Kobe's and Nash's minutes, etc. Another 3-point specialist at the 1, 2, or 3 would be nice (Arenas or Fish?) but not necessary.

Duhon is not scared to shoot like Blake.

Another corner 3 on a catch and shoot...thats his 4th in 7 games Hes got that 1 thing consistent about him. Keep it up

I hated on him so badly, but I think I'm starting to do a 180 on him (I know).

Why? I remembered how bad Sasha was in his first couple years. But like Vujacic, Morris seems to pride himself on giving 110% on the defensive end.

He's outplayed Blake in both games since Brown has left. That might not be saying much, but he has.

If Morris can play under control and keep up the defensive effort, it could give our team an athletic PG that we've been lacking.

I still don't think he's a PG by any means...having Kobe playmake for a spot up 3 screams SG to me.

However, if you bust your butt on defense, I definitely can warm up to that. Lets say Blake is out for the Spurs...huge test for the kid if he gets the nod. I'm thinking Duhon will get it and he'll continue to come in with the subs.

Either way, I need to see how his D holds up against the more talented PGs. One thing is certain, in the triangle, he actually can flourish.

Morris is thriving playing with the starters. He doesn't have to do as much when he's out there with them.

However, he's also playing against awful defensive teams like Golden State and Sacramento. The Spurs aren't the same lockdown Spurs teams from the mid-00's anymore but they're not Golden State and Sacramento either. If Morris gets significant minutes, they're going to test his ball-handling skills.

for every 1 good thing he does, he has 25 other wtf moments. but if he learns to calm down and stop trying to do something spectacular he can be halfway decent. i still dont get why everyone on TWC sportsnet keeps saying hes the future of the lakers. both james worthy and dave miller always say it.

i like that he's developed a corner three over the summer. that indicates that he works on his game (because he had no shot from anywhere last year). i like that he appears to have put on some muscle, as this indicates that he takes conditioning/fitness seriously. finally, i like that he seems to give honest effort on d. he's not super quick laterally, but his size and tenacity bothers some of the waterbug pgs much moreso than anyone else this roster has to offer for that job.

his decision making is still pretty terrible, but in theory, some court time can mitigate this to some extent. he'll never be a floor general like andre miller (my hope for him when the lakers drafted him), but maybe he can carve out a role as a backup guard based on his defense and ballhandling ability.

i wish he'd can it with the fancy stuff, though. he's botched at least three breaks this year trying to make the flashy play instead of simply making a sensible basketball play.

He first gotta make 2 free throws in a row.

sorry for it. but i can t stand him anymore. like someone said he does 1 thing right and 20 other things so damn bad. it looks like when he is on the floor lakers play 4 on 5. i know i am hating on him to much but i am sorry that s the only thing i can do. in my opinion he doesn t belong to that squad. he is so f.... bad and awful

If we got West we would solve the backup PG and SG problem. If Meeks doesn't work out then at least West could split minutes at the backup 1 and 2.

so bad that kobe had to play PG

He gives good effort on defense. Still nothing to call home about, but I like the effort. Everything else is horrendous. I mean, absolutely horrendous. He doesn't have a reliable shot anywhere on the floor. Still makes poor decisions with the ball. Nothing he does offensively gains us any advantage whatsoever.

can't have 2 dumb players on the court at the same time (Morris, Metta) receipe for disaster, might have to add Pau to that too now.

He played well in 1st Quarter he helped us get out of that early 10-2 hole, man gotta make those free throws though. Considering his expecations I thought he was aiite lol
