Darius Morris the so called a PG can't finish around the rim missed all 4 of his shots tonight, tired of seeing him on the court now.

4-28 FG's in his last 28 shots........

He looked to be building toward something interesting...and then he fell off the table. Maybe that apparent building/improvement really just was a mirage.

Yeah, I was really impressed with this kid's improvement and was rooting for him, but ever since he went back to the bench his weaknesses are just too glaring. He can't run the second unit effectively. He can't shoot without someone like Kobe feeding him in the corner. He can't make a layup to save his freaking life!!

Even his defense, which was his calling card, seems to have fallen off. I don't remember the last impressive defensive outing he's had.

Our bench is really struggling with this guy at PG. To me that is going to be a big thing. We should improve a lot with Nash at the helm, not only with the starting unit, but the bench should be much more effective with Duhon running it. Duhon should be splitting minutes with Nash for a while until he's fully back to speed. Morris needs to be at the end of the bench except for special occasions.

Good point, LakerJones about Duhon leading our bench. Duhon had a great game yesterday. However, the dropoff when we go to Morris is HUGE. He's not giving us anything right now. When Nash does come back, we can put Duhon on the bench where he can create which is something the bench really does need at this point.

anyone else notice Bynum completely dismiss him when they were all talking after the game? Kobe/Pau/Drew were all talking and Morris came up and rubbed his head which apparently Drew didn't like because he just turned his back to him as if to cut him out of the convo. Morris stood there few secs then just walked away.

But, great game. That's what he is best at... an attacking PG.

shouldnt' have tried to touch Bynum hair

I've been a big critic of him and still am about his point guard skills, but played very solid defense tonight, specially during the comeback.

Last year's weaknesses:
Couldn't get to the rim even if his man was helping off of him
Couldn't shoot the ball even if no one was in front of him
Couldn't defend a turtle

This year
He has been able to defend PG's pretty well
He has been shooting the three very well
He can get to the rim at will (only knock is finishing when he gets there)

This summer
Floater
Midrange game
Change of speed

The kid finally realized it's his defense that earned him minutes in the first place. That was probably the best performance I've seen from him as a Laker.

If he could play like that every single game, every single play, then he could earn some real minutes at the backup PG spot. He's not a very good PG, but if he's playing with Kobe on the floor then he doesn't have to be.

Maybe he is a SG after all. 45% from 3s this year, 3 for 5 last night.

He's a combo guard which is code for a SG in a PG's body. Luckily for him, he's pretty tall for a PG at 6'4" so that gives him some good reach advantages against smaller guys.

WTF? Then again, he's probably the best defender we have at guard, and he has been hitting his open shots. Maybe they figure if he doesn't have to have the ball in his hands, can just stand still shoot and play defense that he will continue to be useful.
