He needs to learn how to make a Jumpshot. Players are just sagging off him. Hes a much much better player when he pushes the tempo, I was surprised how effective he was.

I don't see much in Morris.... Ebanks is frustrating because he does have some ability to play a role at this level..... but seems to only be able to do it on rare occasions..... He will get another chance this year and I truly hope he makes something of it.....

The body has nothing to do with being able to play the game..... or at least not that much to do with it.... Where Morris is failing isn't in his physique or athleticism..... it's in fairly basic skills and fundamentals..... I've never seen a point guard at this level that continually plays with his head down.... also his ball handling is below average at best and his passing is not fundamentally sound at all..... All things he can work on to gain the skills but from last Summer League to this one he hasn't really progressed one bit... unfortunately.....

His overall game isn't at the NBA level.... it doesn't take much watching to see that.

I agree with you, jeez. :man10: All I meant is that he has the height and strength to not be out of his league in the NBA, but that's clearly not close to enough because he constantly looks lost and out of control out there, I just said I HOPE at some point he could actually put that body to use instead of wasting the clear physical ability. I mean at the very least he's not undersized like Glock and doesn't have that also going against him, he's got no physical liabilities/deficiencies standing in his way. Dayum though, somebody is not a Morris fan. :man10:

Yeah..... I was a little over the top with that post..... in my defense.... it was late.... my flight was canceled because of a freaking storm and the airline put me in a crappy motel (I think I see Norman Bates in the window)..... the one I'm still in waiting for that storm (now a hurricane) to get the hell out of my way so I can go home...... My apologies.....

At least he's been putting in the work, along with the other Laker players.....

The opening preseason contest for the Lakers, on Oct. 7 vs. Golden State in Fresno, is now a mere 41 days away, meaning the number of players at the Lakers facility will continue to climb.

According to the team’s strength and conditioning coach, Tim DiFrancisco, the following Lakers have been regulars at the practice facility of late: Devin Ebanks; Andrew Goudelock; Jordan Hill; Darius Morris; and Metta World Peace.

DiFrancisco expects newcomers Antawn Jamison, Chris Duhon and Jodie Meeks in the weight room and on the court after Labor Day.

As for the two incoming All-Stars acquired in summer trades?

Steve Nash is expected to be in Los Angeles in mid-September, and plans on working out at the team’s facility.

Dwight Howard is currently doing his therapy/rehabilitation from back surgery at a facility in the Westwood/Century City area of L.A. At some point, he will transition over to working with Lakers head athletic trainer Gary Vitti, the team’s head physical therapist Dr. Judy Seto and the rest of Vitti’s staff (a time has not yet been set). Lakers spokesman John Black said Howard will not be doing any basketball/weight workouts until he’s cleared medically, and that there is no target date for any of that at this point.

Pau Gasol* is expected to return to Los Angeles at the end of September, while Kobe Bryant is more than trusted by the team to make his own work out arrangements for the offseason prior to training camp.
*You can follow Gasol’s Twitter feed to find out where he is in a given week.

We’ll have more for you on the player front in the coming weeks as the Lakers ramp up for 2012-13.

I feel like a couple of the guys (MWP / Ebanks / Morris) have been putting in some major work this offseason. Hopefully it pays off....

^ Especially MWP. I think we see a new Ron Artest come opening day and even in the preseason. I don't think he's come into camp healthy and without extra weight in a while (if ever). It's going to be fun to see.

Ron is obviously very serious about this season.

Well each of these guys is on a bubble of sorts..... and each has a lot to play for. Ebanks and Morris don't need the physical conditioning.... it's more between the ears with them.... MWP on the other hand had better not come in 20lbs overweight or Kobe is liable to go "Big Ben" on him......

MWP's play is going to be key to us..... if he can even hit 35% of his 3's he will open the floor up for Howard and Pau a lot because Nash will find the open person.....

Lol point taken, hopefully you're out of that mess by now. No need to apologize to me, jokingly/sarcastically or not ha ha, I was laughing. I think we agree for the most part on Morris, I'm just a little less hard on him, I guess because at least he's putting in work and not sitting around getting fat like some do.

I'm hoping he proves you "scouts" wrong, and as the season goes along he takes that bum blake spot. No reason to have the fake Nash when we now have the networth version. Yell™

Most of us would love to have Morris prove us wrong, it just doesn't seem likely at this point.

I think fake Nash for Blake is actually a complement.

This. A 9/8 player with great court vision, who can shoot 50% from the floor and, say, 39% for 3 would qualify as "fake Nash".

Blake has had his chances, how many times a game will he run the baseline like Nash but unlike Nash do nothing with the ball? Smh I swear if Morris is smart he will become a second skin to Steve nash and pick his brain like high level CIA operatives. I just can't take blake and his running the baseline no more yell™

This kid is getting cut up. Hopefully he's enough reason to get rid of Duhon next year... that's pretty much my ceiling of expectation from him.
