To put it simply, we're bringing in personnel
to fit into D'Antoni's system
. Not saying we should fire him right now, since it won't salvage anything.
BUT, in the off-season, if we can get rid of D'Antoni, we can actually start bringing in players that can play defense, or at least teach it to some of our youngsters. Start grooming now, give it 5 years, and hopefully we'll be in contention again.
Regardless, barring a miracle signing or two, it's gonna be a long journey, folks.
