I've been saying this for awhile. Jimmy and Mitch have my respect when it comes to home run deals. But they seem to have a knack for drafting poorly, overpaying scrubs, and missing out on solid role players during free agency.

I think it's time for MDA to invest in him a little more. He's young, long, quick, athletic, can defend and can score. Why not give him some more minutes? Who else is playing consistently well off the bench?

And what happened to this kid's athleticism? I remember him skying for alley-oops when he first got here now I don't think I've seen him dunk in a year.

Barnes had legal trouble and came up short in the playoffs twice. During the summer it seemed easy enough for me to understand that Barnes wasn't going to fit here and that we needed to get younger and more athletic. Hence giving Ebanks that chance. He showed early that he had worked on his shot, he didn't want to sign this season until the Howard situation was resolved because he wanted to stay in LA. I mean, he said and did the right things...

up until the season started. The kid is too comfortable and isn't focused on playing the game enough. DUIs? Especially during the season? Get serious young fella. We don't have time for that crap.

All that being said, he's played well recently and we need him to. Even with Artest being better than last season, we still need that change of pace off the bench. Watching him run the floor last game was EXACTLY why I wanted to keep him. He's actually a more talented player than Barnes, but he's not even close to the same kind of worker. If he put in the constant effort and did the dirty work that Barnes did, this wouldn't even be a conversation.
