I was a big supporter of Ebanks, but its pretty apparent his priorties are not 100% bball. With that said, I'd say lets give Earl Clark a go at it, unless Pietrus does become an option.

I don't think Clark can be a full time small forward as he can't shoot the three ball. At times it may be useful to use his length against the Lebrons or Durants of the league but other than that he's more of a 4 than anything.

Well I believe we're at the 15 roster mark so we'd have to cut either Ebanks or DJO (I'd rather cut Ebanks), and then we can sign Pietrus for the veteran's minimum or whatever we have left of the mini-MLE.

Ebanks can forget about getting off the bench, if you're a swing player and you cant shoot the 3 at a decent clip you aint gettin any PT

i would imagine getting a DUI would put him in breach of contract...isnt there some rule that allows us to cut him without negative financial repercussions in this case?

This guy's days were numbered as a Laker already (1 year contract). I don't know if he gets a pass for this. I was a big supporter of this guy but even I have second thoughts about him now.

Famous pro athletes hardly get jail time... but then again, Ebanks isn't really that famous.

After watching the Clippers game, I think we need this guy, we need young legs and develop our depth off the bench. He cant shoot so MDA may not be inclined to play him but a few minutes of hustle/D can go a long way for our team.

One more thing...if he cant crack the rotation while being under 3 different head coaches maybe he just sucks. The need for youth and athleticism has been there each of the last 3 years, we've been desperate for it and he just hasn't taken advantage and stepped in

There are clauses to that effect in there but they rarely cover a single DUI. He has been arrested for DUI.... not convicted. Someone with access to money also has access to good Attorneys to get that reduced to a lesser charge. There is an entire section on that alone in Law School....

I'm all for getting rid of him.... but if we were going to do it.... it should have been last summer before we offered him a guaranteed contract. What did he do last year to earn that? He didn't even start when he went to the D league and he blew a gifted opportunity to start for 16 games during the season... we seem to make decent decisions on the big moves but not so much on the smaller ones......

This.

I've been saying this for awhile. Jimmy and Mitch have my respect when it comes to home run deals. But they seem to have a knack for drafting poorly, overpaying scrubs, and missing out on solid role players during free agency.
