Anyone who thinks that Jimmy is making smart decisions behind the scenes is believing the media line. He brought in MB, then D'Antoni, and both without anyone else's input. He pushed for Nash, who is great, but as Mitch said, he'd feel better if they (read "Nash") were in their primes. I bet that Jimmy pushed for Nash too, and then pushed for D'Antoni in hopes of Showtime II. Except Jimmy never understood that the Suns weren't contenders, even with a prime Nash, because of defense. So here we are, 20 games into the season, with an injured star PG, a new center who is being misused, and a star player who's again playing too many minutes, especially at point, where he's going to run down by midseason. THe right coaches were available, but none of them were chosen.
I predict that once Nash comes back, we'll have a super offense, but we'll be turnstiles on defense. 2nd round exit, unless we find a way to beef up our lineup with a defensive line that makes defense a priority even when the coach won't.
