Duhon or Blake, who gets traded?

Duhon or Blake, who gets traded?

Postby Whatthef? on Fri Aug 10, 2012 10:58 am

Looks like the Lakers are overrun with point guards now. Duhon is a much better shooter from three point land. Blake knows the system. Who can the Lakers trade for a backup shooting guard?

Duhon, IMO, is at this point Derek Fisher without the clutch shooting and locker room leadership, so you tell me.

More who gets waived at this point. Nobody as in nobody will want these two unless we package Dwight with them and that might not be enough for other teams to bite :man10:

This. I know Mitch's wand is pretty powerful...but it has it's limits.

They both suck

I will say this, duhon won't hesitate to shoot if open. That's Blake's biggest issue is he never shoots when open. If he did he wouldn't be so horrible to have on the floor

Duhon is a better 3 pt shooter, he shot 42% last season, but he attempted only two per game to Blake's five.

There are very few players in this league who are worse than Blake and Fisher, Duhon happns to be one of them. He looked terrible in D'Amphoneys system two years ago and he was pretty bad last year. He overpasses like crazy

Blake's contract is 4 mil, Duhon only 3 mil. The Lakers could get more back for Blake, if anyone wants him.
I can't see the Lakers going to camp with Nash, Blake, Duhon and Morris at the point and Kobe, Glock and Odom at shooting guard.
Can Mitch pull off another trade? Who could the Lakers get at the two for Blake?

hope Mitch somehow gets rid of Duhon bc as much as I dislike Blake, his familiarity with teammates and coach is important. Maybe use Duhon & ? for a proven SG

I've heard from everyone that Duhon is now epically bad. But I haven't noticed him for like 4-5 years. Based on what everyone is saying I hope we keep Blake if the choice is only those two.

Duhon... At least Blake is feisty and will keep his cover in front of him. No "traveling call" sideline dances either.

Duhon used to be a decent backup, but he has freakin dropped off. I literally thought he was like 32/33 or something because he plays so slow and old, so I looked it up just now and he's only 29. Wow, he plays slower than freakin Fisher and he's 29. IMO from what I have seen of him the past few seasons he's one of the worst backup PG's in the NBA, I would say even worse than Blake, but that's just me.

I actually give him the edge over Blake just for that reason. I want to see that dance every time someone gets called for a travel on the other team.

The allure of getting 500k more and playing for the Bobcats behind Kemba Walker was just too much for him to turn down.

I'm mean who would honestly take 500k less to play behind Steve Nash and get to play with Kobe/Pau/D12/Jamison on the big stage?

Duhon has to go.

Too bad Sessions decided to play for the Eastern conference... uh... contender... but we have to find someone else. I'm even OK with playing playing backup PG as long as he gets ZERO minutes at the 2.

Morris.
There are two teams that play in the Staples Center:
the LA Lakers and NBA Clippers.

That kid seriously must be crying right now. :man10:

He may have been scared of the playoffs, but with this team... well there'd be no pressure at all. He could just play and do his thing. There'd be plenty of minutes and plenty of opportunity and he would have probably earned a big fat pay day.

His agent should be fired. :man10:

I think either we trade Duhon (which can be tough because he can't be traded soon)...

or we amnesty 8 miles. Which saves us 8 mio. this season and a lot more next season.

Duhon is just terrible. Magic fans, and Knick fans have been moaning about this guy for years. Sadly, Blake isn't too much better.

:bang:

it felt like the idea is too good to be true. We have lots of heavy contracts now. We need to get rid of this 3-4 mio. dead weight players because

1. they aren't worth it
2. we have to double up because of taxes
3. they are taking spots from other potential useful players.

^absolutely, especially with taxes making it 14 mio. :bang:

also imagine if we could have talked Kobe into taking a little paycut. 30 mio. really is a huge burden for this team...if he was closer to 20...thats an immidiate 30-40 mio. difference in 2 seasons.
