D12 Discussion: Dwightmare over! (1139)

Howards touches are fine, you can see he isn't a 100% just by the way he does the PnR now. He just isn't as aggressive and powerful as he used to be, lack of confidence because he knows physically he isn't there yet. His jumping ability and burst also isn't nearly there yet. Hopefully he will make a full recovery and get all of it, if not most of it back.

Nope. Still a flagrant 2. He would've been suspended if he caused injury or an altercation. He has 4 points and is 2 points away from an automatic suspension.

Sounds like a freaking Drivers License point system...... god... what has the NBA come to? :disagree:

Before long, someone recognized Phil Jackson sitting in the front seat, and then the rocks began to fly. Revelers pelted the bus and shook it, mocking the Lakers at their lowest moment.

It was painful,” Lakers forward Pau Gasol(notes) said. “It is a feeling that I want to keep in my mind for every single minute that I’m out there playing them.

Dwight's DRB% last year: 33.1. Led the league. This year: 24.3. 20th in the league. #yikes #notclosetoonehundredpercent

I don't get the double standard... Everyone is going crazy about how Pau needs the ball MORE in the post and in less in catch and shoot positions. Why does the same logic apply to Dwight? Why can't he get the ball in positions he is comfortable and do it more often?

id like to start every game just getting him going. force feed him. have nash set him up. i dont like to see a start to a game where its just seems like dwight isnt getting involved.

id like so see post ups and pnr with dwight to start the game as well as pau finding him. get him a couple and then start getting everyone else going. if dwight gets off to a good start it sets the tone for the opponents d the rest of the night. otherwise hes just an average center out there and if you out hustle him hes a zero.

also dont understand how dwights was a flagrant 2 and was ejected but jr smiths to dragic was only a flagrant 1. jr intentionally undercut dragic midair and was completely helpless midair only to fall very hard and not return for the entire game.

dwights was a flagrant foul but not a 2. it looked a lot worse in slow mo than it was. faried was hit in the face...kobe was too twice on a drive to the hoop without even a call. faried hit the floor but got right back up no prob. if he was hurt than its a different story but for someone who is a high flyer throwing his body around and getting every rebound i think the foul wasnt a 2. jr's on the other hand was VERY dangerous mid air and dragic was hurt and didnt get up right away or even return.

Anyways I think Dwight should've been ejected, but that a** clown Dwayne Wade over there in Miami did something just as malicious if not more so by intentionally kicking Ramon Sessions in the balls. Wade didn't even get a technical foul which is f****** ridiculous. NBA has to be more consistent. If you eject Dwight for what he did than you have to eject Wade too.

Wade was suspended for the kick. So then, you think Howard should be suspended for tomorrows game too?

Just curious.... why isn't anyone saying or suggesting that it is Dwight's fault for not getting more touches? Isn't it on him to demand the ball and play so well that the team has no choice but to give him more touches?

maybe the reason he isn't getting enough touches is because HE JUST ISN"T PLAYING THAT GREAT

honestly, everytime they feed him the ball it seems like the opposing center stops him. dwight tries to power them down but can't get far back enough so he passes it OR he tries that hook shot which is 50/50. i seriously can only think of a few times where he's actually powered the opposing center to the basket and scored. it's clear he's not 100% but he just isn't playing that great either. this is far from the dominant center we used to see in orlando

Dwight's last year in Orlando - 20.6 points, 14.5 rebounds, 2.1 blocks, 57.3 FG%.

Dwight's first year in L.A. - 17.5 points, 11.8 rebounds, 2.5 blocks, 57.4 FG%.

You look at those numbers obviously his scoring is down signifanctly as is his rebounding, but that's what happens when you're no longer the #1 option and playing with a guy like Kobe who clearly dominates the ball. As for the rebounding in Orlando he had the whole lane to himself because he played with a stretch 4 in Ryan Andersen who constantly camped out at the three point line. Now he's playing with a 7 footer who challenges for boards in Pau Gasol. Plus you have to remember as it's been stated several times Howard is nowhere near 100 percent.

D12's post game is trash. Just put him in more pick and rolls.

I'd rather see Kobe or Ron in the post to be honest.

^^I expected about these numbers from him. Opportunities would be fewer and the paint more clogged here.

I think he's playing fairly well other than some issues with either fatigue or his back.... hard to tell which.

He's not our biggest problem..... finding a way to win games, play defense and not rack up 36 minutes a game from our aging vets is.....

Oh... and any line ups that involve Morris and not Jamison are as well....

Dwight seems to be limited in his pick and roll movement.

He just doesn't seem as quick rolling off those screens as he used to. Either his injury is hindering him, or the floor is not spaced. I think Dwight still isn't 100%

^ Yup, same here. We had a thread about predicting Dwight's numbers... and I thought it was pretty obvious he wouldn't break the 20 pt mark here and I knew he would posted lower offensive numbers than Bynum because his game is a lot more limited.

I can't remember my exact prediction but it was around 19 and 13 I believe.

He responded really well tonight, he knew he had to come out and beast
I should get an assist for that. It's an intentional pass to oneself, so it's an assist. That way people can't say all I do is shoot.

Not a lot of love? The dude came back after his idiotic foul on Faried and had a nice statement game. He actually got a little more love from the refs which I think was his goal.

He had a lot of shot attempts and he really took apart their team. 21/14/3 with a steal and an assist? That's pretty damn nasty right there.
