Amazing game. You can see his athleticism is coming back and his energy level is better too.

He should just dunk his FTs.

Just more energy and bounce overall tonight, evident by more lift on second jumps at rebounds and trying to get put back dunks all game long.

Dwight got to the lockerroom and had a hate text from Drew.
For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.

^^^ It really was. He had such joyful energy tonight. That was awesome to behold. He ruled! Loved the cheerleading for Jodie, too. :jam2:

^^ It truly was. I think he needed and we all needed it. It brought it back home that it's a game after all and there should be some enjoyment and lightheartedness once in a while. So good to see! I know I get over serious about ball and the Lakers plenty. This was cool. :jam2:

Didn't Wilt used to do that sometimes? I remember watching some ESPN special and it said something about Wilt sometimes dunking from the freethrow line during a game without a head start.

EDIT:

I couldn't find the exact video but here's Tex Winter claiming he witnessed Wilt do this:

All kidding aside, someone needs to show that 3 point shot vid to Dwight, slow it down, analyze it, watch his form -- hand under the ball, shot off his finger tips, wrist follow through. THAT is the form he needs to use to shoot free throws.

I'm already imagining it....

Dwight goes to the free throw line, jumps to take the shot and the ball goes over the backboard.

great job on defense in this one. ty lawson and andre miller were scared to go into the paint, and that was the difference.

His athleticism and conditioning is coming back. Tonight he definitely had more pop in his legs and he wasn't laboring with his hands on his waist like he had been earlier in the season.

If our shooters can spread the floor and open up the middle for Dwight(and Pau), you can expect more 20/15 and 20/20 games from Dwight now that he's getting closer to 100%

Ok, if D12 is getting closer to 100%, then no more posts after our next loss than Dwight is at 75%! LOL.

He played with energy and didn't hesitate on the offensive end. We got him in the "broken floor" situations that he thrives in and eliminated for the most part the stagnate "toss it in and watch" that we seem to do no matter who is playing in the post.

He was covering for the guards inability to stay in the same zip code as Lawson and Miller as well..... unfortunately the the rotations behind him were what we've come to expect....

I guess the test for if he's felling better will be the next game. I'm not sure this was much of a test as Denver pretty much mailed it in on the defensive end.

^ Yep. And I'm not ready to call him "close to 100%" until he displays multiple, consecutive efforts like this. Being at 75% could mean being able to play close to 100% some nights and more like 50% on other nights.

Hoping for the best though.
