the reset of D is nice if they actually did defend, this team gives up so many easy buckets on an inbounds plays, happens numerous times every game this season.

Blocking is a split second reaction thing, it's not as easy as deciding in mid air if it's a catchable ball or one to swing hard at to just tip. What I mean is when you go up for a block you have to go up fast and with the intent to swing hard to at the very least get a piece of it, if you don't you could miss it entirely. You see him challenge other shots the exact same way all game and a lot of those he doesn't block, so it's not like he knows going up if he's gonna get it or not, he swings hard and hopes to get it. I will take a swat out of bounds over a missed block every time.

I think there's some instances when he can just catch a ball for sure, but I don't think this was one of them. It was a pretty bang-bang play.

Some of the blocks he gets when opponents are posted up on the other side of the block he could definitely catch though.

He was definitely trying to swat that shot. He always does. Call it an intimidation factor or whatever but its entertaining for the fans so I don't mind. But of course keeping the ball in play is usually better.

Are we gonna give Dantoni some credit for throwing Pau back into the starting lineup this late in the season in hopes of Pau/Dwight developing some chemistry? All year, people have been clamoring about how those 2 don't fit together on both ends....maybe, just MAYBE, they're finding some chemistry at the right time....but I'm gonna hold my breath until we make the playoffs.

LOL it's alright. As long as you don't mention how great Devean George was, you won't incur V's wrath.

Devean George is probably still better than our bench 9-14....

Devean George was a good role player. He was athletic with a decent shot, and he defended well. I'd take him over Meeks or Ebanks any day.

I wish we still had Ariza, along with Metta.

Guys, it wasn't Vashashi that had a problem with Devean George...it was JSM!!! He infamously coined the term "Gump" for Devean George. With that said, i will not talk about GUMP from here on out.... lol

But back to Dwight/Pau and giving Dantoni some credit...oops...Vash don't kill me!!!!

Yeah..the whole side of that ball has been a bane of this crew ALL season. Their half court defense isn't as hideous as their transition one though. We're talking Broom Hilda ugly...
Nor can the Lakers get blamed for always making the right decisions over decades. At some point its not just luck or "gamble", its superior management and superior ownership.

Ariza, Shannon, Farmar, heck even Sasha are better suited for this offense than what we have now

So this is supposedly Dwight's revenge game against GS and David Lee, right? He better bring it - I want to see monstrous D and tons of posterizing down low.

get back to boarding please. 3 out of past 4 games have been pretty abysmal in terms of his presence on the glass.

good free throw game, but not a good free throw game. was pretty horrid down the stretch when they really counted. but he did make them earlier which kept us in it. par for the course i guess.

The Warriors are literally holding Dwight's arms numerous possessions throughout the game, and the refs aren't calling it. I thought the calls were in our favor overall, but some of those were so friggin blatant.

Alright Dwight, it's all you now. You don't have to wait another season to have the keys handed to you. Kobe even left the engine running for you. It won't be easy with a coach who doesn't understand defense and hates post-playing big men...but just heed the advice Kobe gave Pau and ignore him. Get to your spots and hopefully a two man game with Pau mixed with a the 2 man game you have with Blake can get the job done.

I have a feeling he and the team will put up a bold face, but without Kobe they will fold.

Dwight isn't ready yet. He isn't ready to have the keys to the Lakers. We'll see it these next two games and maybe in the playoffs if we make it. He needed a little more time with Kobe.

But like it or not he's what we have and he's what we're going to be depending on. I hope he can do it.

Well Odom1year finally gets his wish.... Dwight is the big fish in the pond now.
For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.

Dwight better man the F up and step the F up. This is what you wanted Dwight, this is all on you now. The lights can't be ANY brighter. You HAVE to play and dominate, for LakerNation and Kobe.
