Houston can't offer D12 a max contract next year. Ever if they release all their players with non-guaranteed deals. The most Houston can offer him is 17-18 million with a 4 year deal. We can offer him max with 5 years. He's not going to leave that much money on the table.

Dallas can only offer D12 between 13-14.5 million next year. There is no way D12 takes that deal and leaves even more money on the table then he would in Houston or here.

He could have already gone to Atlanta last year. It's never been reported he's wanted to go there or even in his top 3. D12 wants the spotlight and the fame, he won't get that in Atlanta.

Dwight isn't going anywhere. Here he's got the best city. The best money. And most importantly the best opportunity. Whether that's in basketball, business, or his personal life.

Dwight would be a fool to leave for Houston, Dallas, or ATL. Here he'll play with Kobe until he hangs them up & then another star that fits with Dwight will be added.

Dwight Howard is 27 years old. When Tim Duncan was 27, he shot 59.9% from the FT line. This year at age 36? Duncan's FT %: 80%

Tim Duncan = The Big Fundamental

Dwight Howard = Superman

Timmy probably worked his a** off to bump that % up that high. D12 is probably still trying to figure out a way to dunk it from the free throw line.

Ireland doesn't know what he's talking about as usual ...

-1st you couldn't choose more different players than Timoty Theodore and Dwight as Doc said

- Duncan has had mental issues from the charity stripe ....AND there is absolutely ZERO consistency in Timmy Fts numbers through the years ... he may shot 65% from the line next season and it wouldn't be a surprise.

- D12 is getting worse for 2 seasons now .... going from 59% to 49% ... not a good sign at all

Well, that depends on what you mean by opportunity. We're going in to full rebuilding mode in a couple years which means likely a few down years. I would agree that if there is a franchise committed to winning, this one would be it above all others.

But we're going to get worse before we're going to get better talent-wise so there is a good chance that Dwight will not be winning for the duration of his new contract if he signs that one with us.

Tim Duncan made me a fan of Wake Forest basketball. He was so good then, and I loved how he played. But there is a reason he's still insanely productive at 36 - and you nailed it.

No one doubts Dwight's physical capacities. Plenty of people (myself included) have questioned his maturity, his fire, and his dedication to the nuances of the game.

That last line, btw, made me LOL.

I mean honestly there's no better place for a rich, famous person to get famous than the streets of LA. And there's very few places that same person can have as much fun daily in... social circles...

Memphis really gave him hell. They're very active and were constantly trying to knock the ball out of his hands. A underwhelming night statistically, but he still was huge with his defensive presence, grabbed some big rebounds, and hit a FT we desperately needed.

Also, I fully blame one of those five fouls on Steve Blake. Dwight had a perfect seal and perfect position after his block. Had Blake got him the ball, that's at least two FTs. Instead Blake failed and Dwight's battle resulted in an offensive foul.

I thought he made a great defensive play at the end of the game. Memphis fans would probably say it was a foul, but he jumped backwards, and he kept his arm straight up, and Conley missed. Really I saw Conley either got a bad shot because of the defensive play by Dwight, or trying to draw a foul because he had no clean shot because of the defense by Dwight, same thing in the end.

His numbers weren't great. And that happens. But he did play D and secured some very important rebounds. Showed his strength against ZBo and Marc and those two guys are not exactly weaklings.

He was definitely frustrated by the physicality of Memphis. They're big, strong, and they're allowed to push quite a bit. Something he needs to control is how much of his upper body he uses to clear space.

He was getting frustrated by how much these guys were allowed to grab and hit, but props to him for answering back and remaining effective defensively.

Dwight Howard really not into this Lakers-Clippers rivalry thing. "I don't pay attention to it. I thought the big rival was Boston."
