I still think Howard's hurting.... or having to adjust to a "different" feel in his back. I've watched him a lot since he came in the league he always plays with his hand up for the most part on defense until this year. He never seems to have them above his waste much less his shoulders until he jumps. I think he back is weak and that is affecting his whole game. He didn't even try to fight through it tonight.... he was just a traffic cone out there for the most part. Hopefully the couple days off improve his energy because it just wasn't there tonight.

Interestingly, his game in Sac last year was a similar fiasco. He had 5 and 4 ....

Bynum-gina- The effect of a star Center not getting enough touches early that he decides to check himself out of the game both physically & emotionally, in most cases, this happens early in the game.

Symptoms- Bynum-gina's symptoms include but are not limited to:

-No effort to post up
-When you get the ball, kick it out ASAP
-Don't look for the alley-oop even with spacing
-Let your opponent shoot over you at all times
-Do not box out for rebounds

If Bynum-Gina persists over consecutive games over the course of the season, please be sure to contact your local Dr Buss for some changes in your squad.

i don't think Howard is happy with the way Kobe has run the offense last couple games. unless your name is Mutombo, all superstar bigs like to be fed on the offensive end CONSISTENTLY.

I'm not sure on the lack of touches.... at least not tonight. Howard was pretty much the same all game... he was not good from the opening possessions on. That's why Kobe started going 1 on 5 midway through the first quarter....

I don't disagree with the premies but tonight it seemed like a physical thing. He didn't run the floor well either.

My guess is that he will come ready to play next game.

From the looks of it going forward we are going to have to strategize a way to keep him from being hacked in the mid 4th quarters of games.... that seems to be what we are going to see a lot of. So much for all the hype about his new free throw form....

Worst game as a Laker. Just played with no energy. Didn't establish deep position in the post. When he got it, he started passing out with single converage. No defensive intensity other than the goal tending block that wasn't even close to being a clean block.

First bad game of the season by Dwight, I expect nothing less like 20/13/2 from Dwight every game.

Are you kidding me? Last night the ball went through Howard a million times, the only reason why he didn't end up with 30+ was due to his FT shooting. Kobe should have shared the ball early today though IMO

He usually does pass out of those covers because creating his own shot has never been a strong point for him. The key is getting into the lane and setting him up that way. Or getting out on the run and feeding him as the trailer. Plays that emphasize his athleticism...his strong point, even though he isnt 100% yet.

I dont remember us getting out and running all that much tonight.

Sorry, but Dwight only getting 4 shot attempts is beyond unacceptable.

But credit the Kings for constantly doubling him but no one (mainly Gasol) made them pay for it so they stuck with it.

Nobody said Dwight is the hero however he wasn't as bad as Pau. Howard holding Cousins 1 for 6 is great considering Cousins is their leading scorer, he came back in and went 2/2 vs Pau. Its the facts. Dwight didn't help us put up a winning fight but neither was he the biggest factor for the loss

Cousins came back in so Pau shifted over to him and he scored on him too

Seriously though, as great as Kobe is and I love him, he needs to step back and let Dwight feel like he's dominant. This game was selfish, 1 on 1 Kobe. Yeah he was amazing, but he still played horrible team ball.

I can't wait until Nash comes and takes ball from Kobe so that Dwight can be the dominant force on the team and Kobe can step back.

You could see Dwight was blatantly annoyed and even Jarrod Rudolph made some post about the big man won't play D when he isn't fed.

It's only one game but he really needs to be far more involved.

Dwight had no legs tonight. He just started running what 2.5-3 months ago. Running. You think maybe an uptempo style, back to back game on the road had him sore with dead legs

No, its all Kobe's fault. He didn't even pour Gatorade for the guys during timeout.

Im certainly not defending Gasol's play, but why is it that he can get called out for not showing up/having a bad game, but when its Dwight (used to be Bynum, and Gasol back when he was Gasol and not our Odom) its someone else's (usually Kobe's) fault?

Kobe was certainly a bit more aggressive in tonight, but other than that he reminded me alot of his play in Portland earlier this season.......except that Dwight actually showed up that game and so there weren't any complaints about Kobe limiting him for me to read (or rather pass over).

The guy had a bad game......tired, distracted, whatever, but that doesn't mean its Kobe's fault. He'll bounce back next game.

I never said Dwight didn't deserve criticism. I just think Roos is dead wrong in thinking Dwight was the zero of the game over Pau. And the reason he gave was pretty much laughable

While Pau is having troubles defensively and I've been one of his more vocal critics he's taking some heat tonight for a beyond crap game by Howard... Pau gave effort and failed.... Howard failed to give effort.....

yup and Pau seemed more guilty of this than Dwight. He didnt even try in that 4th Q. Isaiah Thomas drew a foul on him, Jason Thompson scored multiple buckets on him and so did Cousins. Pau was just there flat flooted just like last night vs Lopez

Meaning Gasol couldn't hit the mid-range at all. Will be nice to see Nash, Meeks, and Kobe play with Gasol and Dwight, for spacing purposes. Another reason I wish they would add West, for spacing without losing Defensive capabilities.
