D12 Discussion: Dwightmare over! (1139)

They should make him the inbounder, and run a quick play that gets the ball up the court quickly.

Pretty sure we can get the ball halfcourt with one pass, then a skip pass to someone open.

If Dwight is out-of-bounds, he's technically not "in play". So basically, they can't foul him unless it's a technical foul. But that's a foul shot and the ball back to us.

LOL i can see it now. Made bucket. D12 runs out of bounds and upcourt. Stays out of bounds at the baseline under the basket. Shot goes up he gets back in play to grab a rebound. Or if they forget about him. Jump back in bounds. For an easy layup or dunk.

I was actually thinking about this after the HOU loss. I know its FT and the ball if you foul a guy before the ball is inbounded but I'm not sure what would happen if he would inbound the ball and stay out of bounds.

i think dwight needs to yell at teamates even kobe if theyre not doing their job on defense. thats howards domain as kobes is offense mainly. both have the right to yell at anyone and eachother for mistakes.

But they would just T him up for it. You can't just stand out of bounds during a game.

:man10:

Didn't Rodman stand out of bounds on offense some plays by the baseline on offense? I don't know if it was him, but I remember someone did it back in the day.

thats not a bad idea....just wait till the person with the ball crosses midcourt with bou 14secs left then he can come back inbounds :man10:

that's also what i was thinking, or he should just try running away from whoever is trying to foul him
:man10:

yes it'll look hilarious but it's worth the fact that he wont get fouled. if there is a way he can just stand out of bounds during the play, that would be the best solution. although like someone said earlier, i doubt the officials would let that happen

Mason & Ireland mentioned this as a positive, since Kobe usually respects people who step to him... Like Bell, Barnes and Fisher to a degree. Dwight yelling at Kobe & asserting himself like this on D is great... not just Kobe, but the rest of the team responds defensively as well. The run by our 2nd unit in the 3rd qtr was no coincidence, the effort on D fueled the confidence to shoot.
There are two teams that play in the Staples Center:
the LA Lakers and NBA Clippers.

That reminds me of a scene back in the 1990's where it did happen. I forgot who the player was but I definitely remember it. He was running along the sideline while two of the opponents' players were chasing him around.

Did anyone see on sportscenter they had Tim Legler talking about the lil arguement. He mentioned it was Kobe getting frustrated at Howard over his pick and roll defense. I thought it was the other way around. Espn cant even get the story straight.

First.... ESPN probably said it both ways so the guys on PTI will have a talking point.....

Second.... they can yell at each other all they want... and both are correct... the Pick and Roll defense stinks... but the fact that they are yell at one another is proof of why it isn't working....

Despite his horrible free-throw shooting, he looks like he's getting closer to 100%. He's quicker off his feet, and contesting more shots. He's starting to look like the guy we envisioned having when we traded for him. Now, if we can all get in sync together defensively, we should be fine.
