To be fair... The thread title says Dwight "might" play vs. Boston.

Yea he's TO. Kind of fitting that all TO does is pile of the TO's in the stat column.

i'll believe it when dwight starts doing pushups in his drive way. :man10:

I think a lot of you need to take a step back, breathe, and stop jumping to do many conclusions and reading Dwight Howard's body language. If looking annoyed and disappointed was a sign of leaving kobe has wanted to get traded 20 times a season, you guys aren't professional body language specialists so stop panicking everytime Dwight looks unhappy.

There is more to life than laker basketball and worrying about what Dwight Howard is going to do. "is he going to be healthy!!!!!" "is he going to leave!!!!" "dwight sucks!!!!!!" "trade him for average players!!!!"

If he's here next year, great he'll be healthy and better. If not then oh well, life moves on. But the panicking and bashing in the lakers fanbase right now is just ridiculous and is probably being displayed all over the Internet

Howard sabotaged the game tonight, sorry I do not want clowns leading this proud franchise.

howard sabotaged the game, do you know how ridiculous that sounds, it sounds like the people who used to say kobe threw games to make points.

Dang after the beatdown today, kinda wish he didnt come back today. This seasons been tough.. n now at a crossroads. Pick the geezer who won us 5 or the young gun who wont commit? Under those circumstance, eff the new blood and go wit old hat. Trade the mofo. Like i said.... if we can make playoffs at current record, means weve had best record since mid jan. N thats good enough to win the ship with kobe as the cap.

I think Everybody need to stop..take a deep breath..and relax.. and get off Dwight's back.. if he's here next season Great if not guess what? Life goes on the Lakers go on Lakers Nation will live on.. he's hurt.. he has a bad back and now a bad shoulder..do I want him back next season? of course but do I want him to injure himself further by playing this season? of course not if he leaves would I be upset? Nope.. why? because one man doesn't make or break the Los Angeles Lakers..remember that

What I'm trying to say is..stop worrying about it.. whether Dwight Howard re-signs or leaves the Lakers The Lakers will still be the Lakers and the REAL AND TRUE Laker fans will still be here.. :)

i doubt it ever comes down to kobe or dwight.

Dwight and Kobe will spend time over the All Star break (i'm assuming) and hopefully figure things out. worst case scenario dwight sucks it up and waits the 1 season for kobe to call it quits and it's his team.

Dwight has made shortsighted decisions but i think his agent has taken some control over the situation. i don't think his agent lets him leave 30 million on the table, especially after his injuries this season.

I think most fans do not have any problems with what you just said, most fans think he doesn't give full effort and has a tendency of not caring....... tonight was a prime example.

Do I want him back next year? sure..... but at a reasonable discount... and also I wanna have insurance from the medical staff that he's gonna be cleared next year with no back problems and free shoulder pain.

I think he doesn't want to be here..... and if he doesn't then good riddance.

We wont get a discount. There are other teams who have the ability to pay the max (less than ours, but still) contract.

Their are no guarantees that any team stupid enough is gonna pay a guy who might not be healthy next year the max money..... even if the Lakers have his rights and can pay more $ and more years.

this is why the Lakers should just send him somewhere before the trade dead-line and get good foundation pieces in place for next year...

ok lets put one thing to bed. Howard will get a max contract. that is a fact. that is a 100% certainty. it is up there with death and taxes. even Bynum who hasn't played a minute is likely to get a Max.

learn about the NBA people, and a little bit about how it works

At this point, I'd actually be ok with a trade as long as we got SOMETHING back. I just dont think its going to happen.

As for next year, you might be right. But I feel like there's always a couple teams willing to take a gamble on paying a guy the max. The temptation that he COULD return to his Orlando self is strong. :man10:

With Gasol Injured the Lakers hands are basically hand-cuffed and do not have many options... no one is gonna want to take World Peace because of his contract unless the Lakers take back a bad toxic contract and no one is gonna want Duhon/Ebanks unless it's for a bag of Dorito chips.

Duhon? Morris? Meeks? Blake? I think we can do something minor..

I'd be okay with a Deng/Noah package if the Bulls feel a foundation of Rose/Howard can put them at EC Elite status.

or something like Howard for Al Jefferon/Hayward/Foye.

utah doesn't trade for howard because howard would more than likely take the 30 million dollar hit to leave utah.

chicago could have traded for howard in the offseason, or made an offer, howard didn't want to go there, for whatever reason or motivation he didn't want to go there.

there are 2 realistic options for dwight. stay in LA or go to Houston. that's it. however one involves leaving 30 million dollars on the table to go play with a maybe good enough james harden and a bunch of oks and not really goods. he's not giving up 30 million to play in a worse situation in dallas, and he's atlanta is probably just as bad a situation consider you either play with josh smith and horford and win nothing or the hawks rebuild but keep in mind, that's the hawks front office.
