Dwight for Rondo has been discussed by Lakers/Celtics

that horford, teague, korver deal is awful. horford is essentially the centerpiece of that deal and he's essentially a 3rd option, jeff teague is another player who is decent but nothing special, and then the 2 1st rounders which essentially amount to nothing when a healthy dwight howard and josh smith patrol the paint.

and that rondo article says in itself, Celtics believe lakers won't trade howard.

I seriously doubt he'll sign with anybody outright and give up 30 mil. He'll try to force a sign and trade. And if he tries to play that card, we should only hold out for a deal that nets us multiple good pieces (like the way Denver cleaned house for Melo). Anything short of that, let him walk. But I don't think he will. If you were Dwight and had a bad back and may never recover your old form would you give up 30 mil on potentially your last big payday?

Sorry Nash is done as lead guard....but a dual guard set with this D'Antoni guy makes a ton of sense.

Yeah, pretty much any way you look at this it wouldn't be a good deal, and I really like Rondo's fans. This trade would put the team on hold this season and next waiting for him to recover, and unless we got a bunch of good players and draft picks with him it wouldn't be wise, and maybe not even then.

Dwight, MWP, Hill, Duhon for Rondo, KG and Pierce

KG
(Gasol), Clark, Jamison
Pierce
KB, Meeks
(Rondo) Nash, Blake

With the addition of KG and Pierce, Lakers could push into playoff. Then have Gasol back for the payoff.
KG and Gasol in the post...PP and KB on the wing...and Nash...with Jamison off the bench, we are unstoppable...and Clark to provide athleticism...and Rondo for next season

So, basically you want the Lakers to become the Celtics?

It takes a year to get back from an ACL injury, maybe more. I thought we were winning NOW with Kobe riding off into the sunset, not NEVER. I guess we want a high 2014 draft pick? Terrible trade. :bang:

if we're getting a clear message that dwight isn't going to re-sign (and even if he did, how do we know it will be any better next season?)...then we should still look for a piece that fits better than rondo. im a big fan of rondo's game and his work ethic (only celtic i would complement), but i don't see how trading dwight for him makes us any better

Nope do not want wheelchair and that douche KG on this team. Both those guys would make us extremely old and Garnett would interfere with our reloading plans since he would still be owed 12 million in 14/15. That ATL deal is terrible for us as well. All those guys are a dime a dozen in this league, if we're going to trade Dwight i rather we make it a 3 team deal where we would get stuff that Minni would want for Love. A bunch of pieces for Dwight would basically be what ORL got and we all know they got screwed.
I should get an assist for that. It's an intentional pass to oneself, so it's an assist. That way people can't say all I do is shoot.

Pierce is key. Nowadays, we must be able to compete at wing, instead of post, for title. MIA have James and Wade. OKC have Durant and Westbrook. And we only have Kobe and MWP and Nash. Kobe needs help. At least he needs someone can keep their defender honour so Kobe no need to face much double. There are no so many players are on the same league with these players. Pierce is one of them.

KG is needed. With Gasol is out for 6-8 weeks, we need help in the post for a push to playoff. KG is the man we need. Besides, KG could be co-exist with Gasol well with his skill and range.

Rondo isn't necessary. He could be a good addition to run this team and defend pg position. But with Nash, he is not necessary.

I think we could be a contender but have to rebuild in 1-2 years
