D12 FTs will make the headlines but our team pbs start with another non fixable issue : DEFENSE ... well unless we trade for quicker players

why is there no rule against the hack-a-shaq defense or in this case hack-a-dwight?

shouldn't the league be doing something about this to prevent the game from slowing down and sucking all the energy out of it?

They already did. You can only do it to the 2:00 minute mark (IIRC, you could do it all game long). They should extend it to the 4:00 minute mark... or you know, force the damn coach to actually make a change?

This sounds a bit like sour grapes. I agree that it slows it down and makes it suck a bit, but I also think dude needs to hit the FTs.

50% is horrible, but there is simply no excuse to hit below that. I can not believe a professional is this bad.

Actually the rules WERE changed a few years ago to not allow fouls away from the ball with under 2:00 left. I'm against that from a competitive standpoint personally.... if you can do it for 46 minutes why not 48?

I hate to say it but we have to start saving Pau for the 4th quarter. When teams break out the hack a Dwight we need Pau closing out games. If he's hitting his ft's leave him out there, if not we need a legit scorer in he post to close. MDA is a smart coach, especially on that end.. Let's see if he tries it out.

D12 should just bring the ball up the floor and shoot it every time he's about to get fouled. At least his half court shot will be closer than his free throws.

I'm telling you.. Benching Dwight when they start hacking him & bringing in Pau is the answer. He's been steadily declining but he's not as much of a disadvantage as Dwight is when he's missing FT's.. Teams can completely take us out of games with Dwight out there. Once Nash is back, Nash, Kobe, Gasol with Jamison, Metta, Meeks, Hill depending on who else earns the closing role. There's no reason we can't have Dwight dominate for 3 quarters & then have those guys close the game. It worked with Shaq with far weaker role players. If Dwight wants to close games he can earn it by hitting his FT's. No more games.

dwight should stay after every game and shoot three throws until he makes (in a row) the total number he missed in the game.

12 in a row, then you can go home big guy.

I think the rationale is that you keep Dwight out there and force him to endure the embarrassment of being intentionally fouled so that he breaks through it and also because of his defense, but I don't think it's worth it.

His defense suffers when things don't go well on offense and when he starts missing his FTs it's just rolling the dice on whether he will start making them eventually. He needs to go out as soon as Hack-a-Dwight starts.

Me, too. I think it's sadly a necessity. Until the guy starts showing that he can hit his free throws down the stretch they need to take him out. Sucks, but I don't see any other solution unless they are fine with just losing what these close games (it was close until Hack a Dwight happened).

why? He should've been amped to play his former team and ddetermined to score 40 on them. Someone needs to tell him and this team this isnt the characteristics of a championship team
