and if i remember correctly, his FT percentage went up noticeably higher that season

i don't understand how chuck hayes used to shoot like that. it's really not that hard to shoot a ball normal. making it is a different story, but i don't understand how people develop weird hitches in their shot like that

Dwight's gotta be our defensive leader... make everyone think D. That's the only way this team will get anywhere this season. We're horrible. Simply horrible.

Dwight is a great defender but cant do it all. He needs help. Tonight I think even Dwight played without energy and effort on D for 48 mins. Duhon Meeks & Hill were the only players who i thought gave it 100% on both ends for every second he was on the floor...it didnt always go their way but you can see the effort and energy and that was sad given theyre all bench role players.

Dwight needs to get others to follow his lead. MWP too needs to be that vet and get others to play better D and with more energy. Tonight though i just thought the starters came out with NO energy or effort on D thus the 8-0 run. We lost bc of a lack of that intensity and purpose

If D12's role is just a role player, this Lakers wont go too far in playoffs.

without Nash then there isnt any Dwight PnR...its just iso post ups (which are super inefficient for him) and putbacks for points. If he and others get more smooth offensive action then their D gets more energized. Everytime it was slow back to basket for dwight in which he threw it out for a 3. Not really gunna get anyone energized in the paint except the other team bc they're "stopping dwight howard, the best center in the nba, from scoring and forcing him to pass on 1v1 D"

if the offense is smoother, theres less turnovers...thus less fast break opportunities for the opponent, and theres more energy bc youre getting dunks and easy points on O.

And we wont until Nash is back. Duhon can run it well but idk why were not. Hes getting double digit assists now and drillings 3's from waaaay back consistently so i think we should but were not

We're lucky we shot so well from 3 tonight. If we're going to put up a bunch of 3's, we need to be playing inside out. That goes against D'antoni's beleifs though so I don't completely blame the players.
