I feel bad for both Dwight and Kobe. They're basically a two man wrecking crew. As Chuck would say this Lakers team is Kobe Bryant, Dwight Howard, and a bunch of Tito Jackson's.

There were a couple of troubling statements from Dwight after the game ...
1. "On the offensive end, we got to move the ball and share it."

What does it mean? He's not happy with Kobe getting 24 shots while he only got 11.

2. "Is my role clear cut? We’ll see."

What does it mean? Pretty ominous way to say that he doesn't have confidence in how he's being implemented so far.

3. "We got to make it work. We got two guys that can score on the block. We got to use them. You got to make it work."

What does it mean? He wants Mike D'Antoni to cater his offense to fit him and Pau Gasol, not for him and Pau to cater how they play to D'Antoni's offense. about an hour ago

LBJ being criticized for relying on his athleticism for years, but how abt Howard?

he is not the best C in the league PERIOD....he doesnt have any 1on1 game, if he scores, he dunks and you cant be the best C in the league without any 1on1 game, no chance and he also have a lots of problems in defense so hard days for "superman". I would say its only one superman, supershaq

the problem is the coach here........... he's a PG dominant coach with a roster minus Nash that is power ball, low post dominant roster wise....... only a moron force feeds his system regardless of personnel and Pringles my friend is just that........... just talk to any Knicks fan or a fan of a team where MDA was coach and Nash was not his PG lol.

To blame this on Howard at this point would be the equivalent of biting your nose to spite your face.

What in the world are you talking about? He's EASILY the best Center in the league. He's shown us that he can use his speed and quick feet to get around almost any Center in the league, and he creates foul trouble opportunities all game long if he's given the ball enough.

No one on one game?... What does that have to do with anything in a team game? And how many Centers in the league do you think have a BETTER one on one game anyway?

He's got a lot of problems on defense... yeah he does. Like a defensive scheme that sucks and a team full of people who don't even try on that end of the floor. He himself has been a terrific defender both in isolation situations and as a helper.

guy is a moron, he's been suspended 3x this year already for being stupid. Cousin is only better offensively with his jump shooting abilities but overall IQ and lack of maturity nullifies his potential because as this stage in his career you'd think he get better with these aspects of his life/game but it hasn't he's the 2nd coming of Rasheed Wallace.

Cousins attitude alone is a reason no team will ever be able to count on him..... As far as a skill set he has some skill but he doesn't even care about the defensive end of the floor and is among the most overrated on the offensive end. Put him on a team without shooters and guys that can breakdown the defense and he's not nearly as good as most think.

While Howard relies more on his athleticism than he could IMO.... he is still a very skilled big man that has proven that he can be part of great teams..... Cousins is more interested in flashing signs and trash talking while shooting 20 footers than he is in actually becoming a leader or even a good follower.....

Howard is such a superior overall player it's not even debatable IMHO.....

Back to D12 , it's scary how the back pbs have limited his mobility and lateral quickness ... he used to blitz the PNR and do a great a job at staying with the ball handler ... now he's just backing off and doesn't react/move his feet as quick as he used to be , not even close

Actually that may not be related to the back issues as much as you may think..... after 20+ games of watching the lack of rotations behind him when he does that he may be trying to cover everyone because it doesn't seem as if anyone else is going to do it..... :man1:

I was thinking about that too ... we are wasting one of his great strenght if that's the case ... besides the SAS game , I haven't seen much of his usual impressive PNR D

Dwight may not be the most skilled player, but he's still EASILY the best center in the game even at 80 percent or whatever he is right now.

people saying dwight isn't the best center in the league and saying cousins is better. who is the best center then? hibbert? if he could just improve his FT shooting a little and play with some more intensity no one will complain

The only one who could even ever challenge Dwight is Bynum, but that's only if he ever gets healthy and stops acting like a 13 year old.

i was saying that he is not best C in this moment and he isnt....when he is 100% ready, yes he is the best, but in this moment he have the problems playing 1on1...and i dont think he is on 60%....he can say i am at 80 % but we can see thats not true, bc his problems on offense are big and his defense is not good at all....that 2 offensive boards last night show lots of things about this one, where he was in that particular moment...where??

I actually think Dwight is over helping in some cases. Instead of flashing out or showing he over commits sometimes because he always goes for the block. Not saying our rotations aren't horrid or anything else but its a factor.

we've given you ample evidence that his defense and offense are fine. you're speaking without analyzing the truth behind your words.

If the best center+best shooting guard=lottery team at the moment, then such titles are meaningless.

i think even this version of dwight is the best c in the league (though if we were just talking right now, i'd go with varjeao, who's been beasting), and i think kobe's still the best sg. the rest of the team isn't very good with nash and pau on the shelf, and that's how you end up 5 games under .500.
