I hope he plays tonight and I hope he crushes Lopez. For whatever reason I can't stand that guy. Maybe it's because for a 7 footer he's a pretty pedestrian rebounder... Something I hate.

Use your God-given ability, jerk! I'd kill to be taller. :man10:

Great...this season is just horrible. Our team needs time to really learn how to play with one another and this whole season people have been in and out of the line up.

Mike Trudell ‏@LakersReporter
Dwight Howard said he is not playing tonight at Brooklyn. He’s feeling a bit better, but still has pain & doesn’t want to re-injure himself.

He needs to take his time. This team can win without him. It would be nice to have him on the floor though.
For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.

Just sucks missing him AND Artest.

Our defense is going to be awful. :man10:

Yea, I posted that before popping in the MWP thread. Defense is going to take a huge hit with the NBA's BS

For some reason I think we're going to play hard tonight though. We'll see what happens. What's going to hurt the most is having Artest not available to guard Johnson. They've got 2 legitimate perimeter threats and we have two legitimate perimeter defenders. Now we're down to just Kobe.

I'd put Clark on him, but who boxes out Blatche/Gorillaman/Humphries?

^This game is more than likely going to be a "outscore" brooklyn type game. Pau has played some nice man defense lately but still real slow on help D. Last game he was gased by the end of the 4th we can't afford that again. That means Sacre and Ebanks will have to get more burn. Lets see if we rally around one another. A loss would make that PHX loss so much more costly.

I can understand Dwight sitting out. If he's hurt, there's nothing you can do about that. Get healthy...

Does he know that when he is back and get hit again on his shoulder , he is going to be in pain again ?

There is no " let's rest and get healthy " until the end of the season with this injury ...

This guy is obviously thinking about his next contract/personal situation and couldn't care less about the team

I can careless about Dwight, he has the same attitude even before the trade, he didn't want to come here, and it's obvious all he cares about is getting touches and not being kobe's robin

Lmao at this guy always talking about winning and sacrifices. This guy is utterly dumb and weak minded

Yea him staying will be great, but I'm not gonna be heartbroken if he leaves.

It's just profounding that this guy wants more touches down low, when he can't even score down low with his back to the basket.

Lol why did he want to post up so much when he got to the lakers? Did he think he magically got Kareem's post game when he joined the franchise?

This guy just needs to run the pick and roll and dive to the basket and stfu

Seriously, I really can tell HE is the cancer in the locker room,

And how can anyone discipline him? From the coaching staff to the players and to the management? Dude is a free agent over here and nobody can say anything.

Pau is clearly the better post option, but ofcouse Dwight wasnt havin it, if it didn't go his way either request a trade or leave after the season

Centers are done In this league, unless one as talented as Kareem, Hakeem, or Ewing come by, or monsters like shaq and wilt

Dwight is pathetic

So how can a guy staying be great if he's utterly dumb and weak minded?

If anything, we should not be wanting this guy to stay, especially if he's going to be the face of the franchise.

Well he's going to have pain until he has surgery..so 2 options play live with it or have surgery
“If somebody had their life on the line, and they’ve got their options on who they want to save their life – tell me who you’re going to pick?” Bryant asked. “You’re going to look at the stats first?”

My apologies for putting this in here, I know that the narrative of the thread has changed to Dwight missing the game tonight vs Brooklyn. But I was watching SVP and Russillo and they were discussing the Mitch interview about not trading Dwight. Below is ALMOST word for word Russillo's comment on the situation, and I must admit he almost took the words out of my mouth.

Russillo: "As soon as you trade him you are probably gonna lose the trade. And what if Gasol is moved? And that's the problem they have right now, what if Howard doesn't want to re-sign? Here's the problem, and people can argue as much as they want, "He's not a leader!". You may not like his personality, I haven't loved it all the time, he looks a mess this year physically, his effort has been all over the place. That still equals a max contract in this league, based on who he is and what he has done in the past. And if you don't think he is worth that, then you are saying at 27 Dwight Howard is done and that he is on the decline. And I don't believe that, this year has been a disaster, but I don't look at that, I look at him as a basketball player that I want to be in the business of. If I am running another team and you are actually gonna trade him, I am harassing you all day to try and get him."

I don't really understand the precaution of sitting out, perhaps the platelet still needs time? If he's not getting the surgery he should play because no matter how long he waits the torn labrum won't heal itself.
