D12 Discussion: Dwightmare over! (1139)

He won't be 100% until mid season. He did this a few weeks ago and then came back with some bad outings. It seems to be a stamina issue at this point. Once that irons out this will be a consistent thing

I'm already imagining it....

Dwight goes to the free throw line, jumps to take the shot and the ball goes over the backboard.

I still can't believe he nailed that 3, but he can't shoot free throws. :man10: If he can bury 3's during practice and even make one in a game, he should be able to fix his free throw shooting. Pretty fantastic game by him last night regardless though.

He should take a step back from the FT line.

For those who didn't see the ESPN feed, you gotta watch this clip for his reaction after the interview with Doris Burke:

Slava laughed at the suggestion his skills might be affected by the down time. "Are you kidding?" he said. "Basketball is like ball. It's all a circle."

I've heard it said he can bury corner 3s in practice all the way back to Orlando. He's even been shown making them at the AS practices.

Who knows maybe the backboard is distracting? Seriously lots of people at taught to look at that square as a kid to make free throws and shots, yet from the corners you have to line your own shots up without it as a guide

You mean Mark Lansberger style? Dwight could only dream of shooting free throws as well as Mark did.

sorry if already posted...

When the subject turned to his new team, Howard's mood noticeably brightened, and he offered his strongest comments to date about the likelihood he'd sign a long-term extension with Los Angeles in the summer.

"From one to 10? I'd give it a good 12. I love it. It's been a lot of fun," Howard said. "Just everything here, from the practices, the motivation of everybody here is championship, that's what we need.

"I like the direction we're headed. We've had some tough losses but we'll learn and we'll grow from it. We're going to stick together."

I was never really worried about him leaving, but I'm glad he's enjoying his time here. Hopefully that number increases 10x when we win the title. :man1:

Where would he go?.... more specifically... where would he go that can pay him as much as he will make here? Endorsements and salary are his biggest concern until he signs his next contract and it would be monumentally stupid to do it anywhere but here.

The only way he isn't here next year is if the Lakers don't want him here.... and there is zero chance of that.

He's pathetic. No way a superstar paid that much money and praised that much should shoot FTs like this.
What's worse is that it's mostly mental. The guy is just MENTALLY WEAK. Smile all you want Dwight, but work on your mother****ing FTs.

I don't know. I blame Howard for not trying underhand, I guess. And I blame him for a lengthy career without improvement. But for tonight I blame D'antoni. Get the guy out of the game. Sit him down. Keep him next to you on the pine.

MDA just said that 9-21 wasn't the problem tonight.... that Howard's free throw shooting hasn't been an issue.... Orly.....

and just one another thing...something similar like bynum...if he grabs ball far from basket and goes inside...
it often looks like he just throws the ball...like he doesnt even aim...

It's mind blowing a guy could experience a 20% drop in FT%. Really don't care how good is defense is, dude should be banned from the league for shooting like this.
