D12 Discussion: Dwightmare over! (1139)

Re: Dwight Howard Discussion:Apologizes,"it starts with me" 804

Postby Doc Brown on Wed Jan 23, 2013 3:46 pm

D12 wants to be the face of the franchise, but can't stand up to the person he is supposed to replace?

That's about as weak as his post game. You got a problem go to the source, wants to be the man, but doesn't have the set of stones to speak up.

I want that guy leading my team. (Rolls eyes)

Why does Kobe respect Fisher so much, probably has to do with Fisher having no qualms about putting Kobe in his place if need be.

This.

Kobe won't respect you AT ALL unless you step up to him. Dwight needs to quit with this passive/aggressive BS if he wants to be "the man."

Well, maybe he did. "Source" doesn't know everything... i think :man12:

Exactly... Are you guys afraid of confrontation? :man10:

To me this was an excellent thing.

I was waiting for this "meeting" for a while already. I was expecting a closed door players only meeting.

Well it's good to have D'Antoni in there too, he's a HUGE part of the problem.

I think as fans we're to trying to cling to anything that can be positive. I really hope this was a healthy confrontation that leads to production on the court; and no moral victories but actual wins...

Kobe: "Dwight. Do you not like playing with me?"
Dwight: "(passive-aggressive bs)"
Kobe: "I don't want to hear that bulls*** man. Tell me how you feel."
Dwight: "(more bs)"
Kobe: *stands up* "Come over here, man." *pokes Dwight in the chest* "You're a mother f****** beast and you know it! I know that you've always been the man on your team, and you're going to be the man here real soon. But right now you're not acting like a beast. You're acting like a b****! Don't get me wrong, I don't mean any disrespect. I just want the beast. I respect the hell out of the beast. Look, you know you're not going to be the man on this team while I'm still around, so tell me what I can do while I'm still here to bring out that f****** beast.

Howard is part of the "big 3" in LA, and he doesn't have anything constructive to say?

Ship him out. Kobe, Nash and Gasol all the way to finish line and let the chips fall where they may. Howard isn't right physically, and he doesn't have the fire inside to lead. Nash does it with charisma, Kobe does it with determination and a hint of darkness. Howard is just a whiner whose body can't make up for mistakes as much anymore.

This times 100. Kobe acknowledged he's an a-hole to play with and then put it to Dwight, let's talk about it (I'm sure you have specific gripes with me let's air it out I want you to be able to be your best here, stop the BS and let's kick some A). In the end he wants to stop the drama, focus and start winning. And "Superman" weenies out and says nothing.

Yeah that is our "franchise" guy, odom1year, if this is true. No balls!!! This is the guy Kobe is supposed to hand the torch to?? He's freaking afraid how it will "look" if he fires back at Kobe and it gets out. Or for all his bulk and muscles and size he really doesn't want to confront Kobe even verbally, or knows he has no real case. Kobe just wants to find a solution. Totally different mindsets.

No, this is exactly what needed to happen. Maybe even happened later than necessary.

To all those people saying this "did more bad than good", I don't understand why. At least they're meeting, discussing things, trying to find unity &trying to find a solution.

Kobe acknowledged "he's hard to play with" and Dwight owned up to his half a** claim that he's not getting touches. Dude gets touches just doesn't produce.

Good for team.

I think we're taking that a little too seriously. Just because he didn't say anything, doesn't mean he's not contrite.

What kind of guy takes a paper around a room and makes fun of a guy? Someone who is afraid of confrontation. So when faced with confrontation, most guys like that don't step up and say something. They back down, they explain why they were angry, and then they usually feel contrition or at least show it.

I would guess Dwight said his piece and said something to the effect of "I was just angry man, I'm sorry" and then went about his business. Obviously I'm just guessing, but I feel like what I said makes more sense than Dwight mumbling something back at Kobe.

If he did that, don't you think Kobe would demand a better answer? We all KNOW Kobe would demand more than "blah blah... blah blah blah"

its only good if they found a resolution and got on the same page...if they didn't, i see more disharmony and drama within the team

I'm not sure what's a bigger mess.... the team or this thread..... :man10:

See you all in the GD thread and we'll find out if this "meeting" was constructive or another "stop-gap" thing they are "supposed" to do..........

mature as in somewhat passive/agressively agreeing with a reporter and hinting that playing with Kobe might have slowed his growth?
