Paul is a one way player? He can't defend? Wow. I've now read it all on this site.

I have no idea what there is to smile about when losing by that much, especially when it's the team's 6th consecutive loss, unbelievable...

I'm not saying Dwight isn't committed to winning, but smiling when you should be filled with frustration is his problem, that is what holds him back from being the monster that can win titles. Not his smiling alone, but his lack of knowing when to do so...

KG/Kobe/Shaq/Duncan/Dirk/Iverson

Can you picture any of those players smiling after being blown out on their 6th consecutive loss? Me neither...

Lol. You guys are just too much. Overreacting over two pics taken in a moment in time. Yeah, let's get rid of Dwight. He smiled.

Don't put all the "new" players in the same basket ... Rose , KD , Brickbrook ... they care very much about winning

Nobody is saying to get rid of him, but it sucks as a fan to be frustrated to see them losing & he is smiling when he is the one wearing purple & gold himself.

D12 did this crap often when he was Orlando. I was hoping he wouldn't do it anymore when he came here, but I can't say I'm surprised. It's just something we have to live with.

Very appropriate. :man10:

But well, yeah, what can he really do... this team is so pathetic that anyone would laugh. Kobe chooses to look downright scary, while Dwight chooses to laugh it off. It doesn't mean he isn't concerned or doesn't care about winning... he obviously does. It's just not in his nature to put forth the Kobe face all the time, I guess.

It doesn't bother me that Dwight smiled at all. He can't help the team, we keep on losing, so he outwardly smiled, what else is he supposed to do. That's his personality, is he supposed to frown just because he's a Laker now? Kobe frowns, Dwight smiles, doesn't mean Dwight doesn't care. Really looking at the pic it doesn't look like a happy smile anyway, looks like a "damn I can't believe we're losing again/can't believe this s***" smile.

I'm always on the fence with these things. My initial reaction is; wtf is going on, this does just doesnt care. It's irritating when you feel like youre taking a loss harder as a fan then they are as a player.

But you have to be careful about reading too much into something that was captured in a fraction of a moment that we dont have any subtest on.

This is who Dwight is guys..... we all knew this when he got here and he isn't going to change his personality because his jersey changed.

Dwight seems to have different goals for his career at this point than Kobe..... but so does 90% of the NBA. Comparing anyone to Kobe's drive and determination is going to be very similar.

See, this is what i was talking about. Looking after the future of the team and not looking blindly at the present only. Still want a 34 year old Kobe who is on his last legs over a prime Howard? No one beats father time, no one. Kobe is the greatest Laker ever right there with Magic but time doesn't stop for anyone.

So we have to choose between the guy who has bad nights due to age and being played too many minutes and the guy who puts up terrible games like tonight by simply not doing enough? I still take Kobe, you play him less minutes and he's effective. What's Dwight's excuse? 8 points? 5 shots?

Right now Howard sucks tho! He's not our savior either because he's a shell of his former self.

You really agree with him Borri? You see Dwight as the guy to lead us into the future? Because I don't, I wouldn't build around either one of them going forward if I had to choose, I'd honestly trade Dwight if we could get somebody great for him, and let Kobe retire when his contract is up if that's what he wants, and if he wants to stay on for cheap, fine.

Dude. Rest isn't goong to do anything. Nothing will help. The guy is 34 and his legs are closer to 36. He's on his last legs and nothing will change that unless if he gets a bionic leg implanted. I don't know how old u are and what your level of basketball experience is but i am both old enough and played basketball enogh to know that you really start to lose your legs in your mid 30's. It's just a simple fact. Kobe can't keep up with the young legs. Maybe if you have a time machine? Nothing will make Kobe look fresher or younger.
