Earl Clark Discussion: Second Wind?

I did some research on Clark when we acquired him from Orlando; his issue is consistency. I would like to see him give us some level of production on a game to game basis before I make any determination. The one things he does do well consistently though is play defense. He's a good team defender and a decent on-ball defender.

As a matter of fact, Stan Van Gundy orignally acquired him to guard the Lebron's, KD's, Carmelo's, because of his length and athletic ability. We should put him on KD this Friday and see how that works out...

Book on Clark was poor man's Odom. Not the ballhandler but similar size. If he has some range but can still defend PF he could be an intriguing player. Seemed to play some defense as well.

maybe he should get a crack @ the backup 3? But I dont expect this type of offense to repeat though however he is lengthy, maybe him paired with Hill can somewhat help the 2nd unit defense.

I don't think Orlando's Ring-Around-The-Rosie 3pt shooting offense is really the style that suits Clark offensively.

A majority wanted to trade him all this time, and after one good game, we hear praises

On a serious note, I always hoped he would get some playing time. Like a diamond in the rough similar to Hill, you won't really know what he can do until you give him a chance. Whether it remains to be consistent, is the issue.

Not saying they're the same guy, just looked like similar type players to me. Both long, move similar because of it, similar looking jumpshots because of it, same type of hustle and similar defense to me.

I agree on the defense and hustle aspects. Something we've been missing from Ebanks, that's for sure.

He will get the minutes in the rotation from now on. He bring us youth, energy and hustle that exactly what our team lack.

Clark will be our backup 3 and Hill is our backup 4.

Much rather see this Kid get minutes than Jamison. Jamison so many open 3s that he completly missed. I don't expect Clark to hit 3s, but he at least boxes out and and hustles for the rebound down the stretch.

He had a great game and was hitting the mid range with great consistency. Hopefully he can continue to bring the energy we saw tonight.

This kid came out of nowhere.

Hope he keeps it up.

great game from him. some of it was probably that SA hadn't scouted him well, but still...way to contribute and try to earn some consistent pt.

i like that, like hill, he's a big who moves his feet pretty well on defense.

D'Antoni just said they found something in Clark...so pretty sure his minutes will be going up from here on out.

How does this not show up in practice??? Think how much better he would be by now if he had gotten most of P.O.S. Ebanks' minutes, once it was clear he just doesn't have it. Great game kid! Take the minutes, make them yours just like Hill. Keep bringing it. Not bad skills at all considering he has been rotting on the pine seeing NO NBA competition save couple minutes here and there in garbage time. The one or two times that has happened.

OK OK he's the big forward...... whatever but he moves every bit as well as sucky Ebanks.

Not only that but he LONG and athletic and can guard the 2 or 3. The kind of player that PJ loves.....wait...my bad.

Like Hill, here's another guy showing how well you can produce off hustle and effort. Hopefully he gives this same effort next game.

"Clark had a growth spurt in 8th grade (5-10 to 6-6) & started playing inside at Louisville. Then grew to 6-10. Still works on guard skills"
