Earl Clark Discussion: Second Wind?

After Shannon & Ariza, I won't count out a young athletic player.. On an old team like ours that's so reliant on skill over athleticism, a guy like Clark has a chance to bring something unique to the rotation.

Joddie could play pg guys...so why not

Well, he comes from one of the top college basketball programs in the country. He seems to have good defensive instincts and being 6'10" he can play the 3/4. I mean I wouldn't mind giving him a shot. He could be a surprise and show us something.

When Hill came in during the OKC game in that double OT thriller, he came in and shined. I was pleasantly surprised on what he brought to the table the rest of the regular season and in the playoffs. Not saying it would happen to this kid, but you never know. It could be another option to throw at Durant...

the thing that i originally asked no one confirmed was that he did not accept the qualiying offer when he was in Orl. So i'm not even sure he's under contract but yet some how he was able to be traded.

Earl Clark has changed his mind and opted in to the final year of his contact with the Magic, according to sources close to the situation.

He had a player option and exercised it, he's under contract.....

Although Earl Clark originally informed the Orlando Magic that he would decline his player option for the upcoming season, the 6-foot-10 forward changed his mind and exercised the option.

The paperwork necessary for Clark to opt in was filed Friday before his deadline, said Clark's agent, Happy Walters. The move ensured that Clark will remain under contract for the next 12 months and will receive a salary of $1.24 million.

Well from the highlights he looked pretty decent ... haven't read draft reports but he was drafted pretty high ... who knows maybe he will emerge same as Hill did ... would be nice, he looks really athletic

And other teams had go through the transition to NBA schooling process with them before Mitch deemed them ready to be Lakers......

Now all we need is another pic from the 09 or 96 draft and we will have 3 guys from the same draft like the heat and again I prefer Clark over Martin all we need is tmac and barbosa 1.5 each,trade blake to Portland for 3 second rounders yell™

^sounds like a good dude...

but when you are a lottery bigman and it takes you 3 years to record your first double double, damn thats not good. If he was considered a good prospect, Orlando would have probably sticked with him. When a rebuilding team gets rid of an athletic big guy who was drafted and praised in the lottery...thats kind of not good.

When we traded for Adam Morrison... Shannon Brown was the surprise (at least, the player with more minutes of the trade).

Can be Earl Clark a "surprise or hidden player" in this trade?

I know... only dreaming, as I didn't see him too much but... size and athleticism together... always welcome.

We build through the draft alright. Let other teams draft them. We sit and wait to see if they pan out and grab them.

Why waste time with draft picks when the NBA is our minor league system.

Huh, I don't expect much, or anything really, from Clark, but at least he looks like he can hit an open shot and he's pretty tall at least.

^Lanky, moves well, good form on his J, provides very good help D... Hopefully he'll see some time on the floor to showcase those attributes. Clark looks more polished than Eyenga ever was.
