Earl Clark Discussion: Second Wind?

I think if Earl can develop a little bit better ball handling, he can be a very good player.

The fire, passion, & honor to defend the letters across your chest, this guy has it & he has a lot of it.

He better be back here next season.

He kind of reminds me of Larry Nance, versatile player who can play and defend multiple positions.

I feel like Clark looks a little gangly when he standing still, but then as soon as he starts moving all the parts move the way they're supposed to.

Cant say enough good things about this guy.

Some big games coming up for Earl. Both of the big guys out, he's going to have to play huge, especially on defense.

This is the main reason I hope the Pau for Josh Smith thing comes back up for discussion. Doesn't have to be Josh but you add any elite defensive PF or tweener & we get really tough to score on. Earl has SO much potential as a defender.. Smith works great because he can play both positions so he still works when Jordan Hill comes back. Dwight/Earl/Smith/Hill/Artest. That's some scary defensive depth & all but 1 of them are young. We could go from a much criticized defense to one of the best in the league next season.

hope he stays confident and doesnt waiver from what hes been doing as of late. his confidence in late game situations and just overall play has been awesome and i hope pau going down doesnt change that. the lakers are not in even more of a hot spot with him out and i hope he doesnt try to do too much and just does what hes been doing. when he forces the issue thats when he shows his inexperience but when he plays his game in any situation hes awesome. im glad hes been starting bc that will def help down the line with pau out. i really think his job wont really change all that much with pau out. i think with a kenyon martin type player next to him at the 5 it'll be good.

Smith expires this summer and we have no money to sign him. Unless Atlanta can sign and trade him to us in the off-season (I think restricted by the new CBA), then it's not coming back. Especially with Pau out for what will likely be the remainder of the season.

I see where you're going with that idea, but offensively we'd be in huge trouble. We'd need a young, quick PG to make that work offensively (fast breaks) and I don't know that we could find one.

Going to need a lot of Clark tonight.

^You're right. He's been good consistently and we need his production tonight.

We should stick him on Pierce.

He's already been great on the boards but we'll need something more from him offensively. His showcase time is now.

I think Pierce and Artest are BFFs...so I doubt we will have Clark on Pierce for extended period of time.

Clark would be better spent on someone like Garnett... He's got the length to at least try to challenge those jumpers, Artest really doesn't.

even when things looked TERRIBLE tonight, when they could have just mailed it in and lost by 30...EC was still out there trying.

Clark looked bad last night beacuse he was playing Center guarding KG, hes a SF/PF using him along those lines properly. Great great game

Clark looked sluggish early like against Boston but came on late. Nice.

I'm not sure why anyone is surprised at what Clark is doing, it's not like he was selected at the 55-60th slot... during the draft... he was a lottery pick... he should at the very least be a very good role player.
