Here we go again?

With all the major pieces remaining from their recent title run, the Miami Heat look ready to repeat. Can any team out West get in the way?

For foresight, we surveyed 100 of ESPN's best basketball minds, including contributors from ESPN.com, the TrueHoop Network, TrueHoop TV, Daily Dime Live, ESPN TV, ESPN Radio, ESPN Deportes, espnW, ESPN The Magazine, ESPN Insider, ESPN Fantasy, ESPN Games, ESPNDallas.com, ESPNLosAngeles.com, ESPNBoston.com, ESPNChicago.com, ESPNNewYork.com, ESPN Stats & Information, ESPN Topics and ESPN Analytics.

To participate in the discussion and perhaps get your opinion published on this page, #NBApicks is the Twitter hashtag to use. Or you can just follow along @NBAonESPN.

Here's the voting breakdown:

They've got a solid team. Getting Iggy is huge for them, but I'd say they're at best a WCSF exit. Saying they'll win the West is idiotic at best.

I really don't give a F*** what ESPN predict! ESPN and they stupid rankings, of course, remember last year when they put Kobe on number 7 best player in league :bang: . They are making this list again, can't wait to see where will they put Kob.......
They are now at 201 (Randy Foye) here is the list

57 - 31 is almost 2:1. If you give me 2:1 odds for the Lakers (as compared to the Heat), I'll take the Lakers all day.

Heat have chemistry, we don't...as the season progresses, I believe some of their choices will change.

PSH MORE LIKE 80+

but rly, all this "chemistry" talk is overrated. ya, chemistry comes in to play when you have 2 people who do essentially they same thing (wade and lebron), and need to adjust to eachother. but when you have 4 players who all have a different role, and do exceedingly well at their respective roles, im not convinced "chemistry" is going to be the resounding reason we dont win a championship this year.. id say injury is more of a concern.
all i know is that no one is better than anyone else, and everyone is the best at everything.

I don't think the hype is warranted at all, yet. We have a long way too go to see how we mesh on the court. Grant it, I think we will steamrolll teams but we have to play the games first, though.

That poll seems fine to me. Doesn't bother me. I don't think we're too hyped or disrespected in any way. 1/3 of them think we'll take it. Sounds about right. About what I'd expect. OKC is good but still young and still figuring it out. Lakers are built to win right now and basically have an All Star team as their starting 5. It's obvious why more experts picked us. But of course Miami is still the prohibitive favorite. They just won the title and they got Ray Allen who will help them even further. Plus probably a healthier Bosh and Wade.

I'd say he's climbed ~2 spots, surpassing both Dirk and DWade. Likely DHoward as well, because of the whole dwightmare and injury.

We haven't stepped foot on the court yet..... We could gel quickly and stay healthy and flat out dominate.... or we could have trouble adjusting to not having shooters and a very thin bench and have an injury or two and limp a long into the playoffs... I think it will be somewhere between but we are the ones that have to prove ourselves...... OKC is the defending West Champ.... so they are the team to beat until we beat them....

Any experts worried about Ray Allen, and how he'll adjust to being a bench player behind Wade?

All of these chemistry issues over the Lakers is still residue from the FALSE claim that Kobe is too selfish to play with another star. Lakers will get along just fine. Injuries are the concern in my eyes.

I've got no problem with these predictions, the Heat are the defending champs with upgrades to their roster. Defending champs always get the respect as long as they have the same cord of players returning, and that's how it should be they earned it.

That'd be an awesome series. As we know the playoffs are all about matchups and Denver matches up very well with OKC.

I think OKC would probably win, but it would be a knock down drag out series as the great Charles Barkley would say.
