Favorite Laker Regular Season Game of all time?

What are some of your favorites? I have to admit, last night's comeback win is up there. That comeback was amazing to watch!

Off the top of my head, last night's game, blazers 2OT game, blazers Kobe game tier and game winner in OT, kobe 62 points in 3 quarters.

2000: LA vs Portland. Both teams were tied for the best record in the league. They set the record for 2 team with most wins meeting for a game in NBA history. LA won and went on to win the division, which set the groundwork for our Game 7 comeback in the 2000 WCFs.

Others: Shaq's 61 vs Clippers. Kobe's 57, 61 in MSG, 62, and 81 point gams. Double OT vs Portland when Kobe just hit crazy shot after crazy shot. Kobe's 55 on Jordan in his last game vs Lakers. LA coming back from something like 28 vs Dallas (I think it was 20 in the 4th quarter).

Retrospectively? I think it was Magic's first rookie game where Kareem hit a shot at the buzzer for the win and Magic went nuts. :man10:

After that probably what John3:16 said: that game against the Blazers for the division title where Kobe hits two absolutely impossible shots. Definitely a lot of fun.

81 points.

Regular season games kind of blend together after a while though so I'm missing a million great moments.

Any time we beat the Leprechauns.

But yeah, that was a fun 4th quarter last night.
Vitti uttered three words that surely applies to how Bryant made two free throws on one leg, walked off the court on his own and processed his rehabilitation plan amid the pain, frustration and tears.

“That’s really cool.”

That's easy. Lakers vs Portland when Kobe hit tthe shot to send it to ot then hit the game winner over Ratliff . Last game of the season and it decided who we played in the playoffs. Hands down my favorite regular season game. Not far behind is the 81pts game and the 4th qtr comeback vs the mavs .

Up 21 to triple OT....

Portland game @ Portland where Kobe won the division to get the 2nd seed..

Kobe's 62 point game vs the Mavs where he outscore the whole Mavs team

Kobe's 81 point game

game 4 vs the Suns in 06 playoffs? where we took the 3-1 lead after the heroics of Kobe.

Kobe's 65 vs Portland

Kobe's game 6 in 2010 playoffs vs the Suns where he slapped Gentry's [Swearing is not permitted at Clublakers. You must edit this post prior to submitting.] after he iced it.

Horry's 3 in 2002. The Comeback on the Nash and Dirk Mavs that had the 26 game win streak in a row or whatever it was, the one where the halftime score was Lakers 36, Mavs 63. Artests buzzer beater vs the Suns in 2010, Game 7 Finals 2010. The game where Kobe hit like 13 or 14 3s on the Sonics in 2003 or 2002, can't remember what year.

That would probably be my list right now. I didn't physically watch the game last night but I watched the score, so that would go up there, in a way.........

There are lots of choices, many of them already said here.

Another good candidate was this:

Here you knew it. This kid was for real. 27 point comeback victory led by Kobe after Shaq was ejected. The game was played on the same day of the shooting at Columbia Highschool, a recently retired MJ watching in the sidelines and of course, Chick Hearn.

Don't really have one over the years but ALL wins against our hated rivals based in Massachusetts are mostly it for me. Our place...their place...don't matter. Johnson's off the wrong foot, leaning banker... Van Exel's last second shot... Bryant's game winner over Allen. Odom standing up to Garnett... Slapping THEM around at The Forum and Staples... It goes on and on and on.
Nor can the Lakers get blamed for always making the right decisions over decades. At some point its not just luck or "gamble", its superior management and superior ownership.

81.

62 in 3 quarters against Dallas.

Game 2 in 04 Finals when Kobe hit the winning shot for our only win that series.

Fish's 0.4 against SA in 04.

Kobe's crazy game against PHO in the 06 playoffs that put us up 3-1.

The one that comes to mind was Christmas day game in 2008. That's the game when both we and the evil empire had winning streaks, but we took it to them in that game. The play I remember was Pau blocking Ray Allen's 3 and then Trevor Ariza taking it down the other end with the exclamation point reverse dunk. That game was the game that really set the tone for a championship season.

That game was huge because it was a Christmas day win and we usually suck in those games
It was over the evil empire
It gave the team a championship swagger. They were hungry and played like a team.

Another favorite was that same season, Cleveland on the road. Lamar went nuts in the 3rd quarter and we put them away on the road. If i recall Cleveland lost only 2 games at home that year. That was the exclamation point win on a road trip that we went 6-0, including road wins against those guys and Cleveland.

This one definitely.

Finally beating Boston in the Garden was big for me a well.

As for regular season games I'd have to rank a Laker game in Houston in 86. Hakeem and Sampson were the LeBron and Durant of the day in that they were getting all of the hype. The matchup was deemed the passing of the torch from Kareem to the young guys in a promo for the Friday Night Game of the Week.... Kareem was 38 I believe..... he proceeded to drop 46 and grab 11 boards shooting 21-30 in the game. His last shot in the game was a reverse dunk over both of the twin towers. The towers scored 35 combined points.

Kareem averaged 35 PPG against Houston that year with games of 43 and 46. Keep in mind that while he was the greatest scorer of all time his career high game is just 55 points so at age 38 that's pretty impressive

For some reason I remember that game more than most others I've watched over the years.
