If Nash is back and healthy by Game 1 and we steal one on the road then ill say lakers in 7. Hill coming back sometime in the series will help solidify that guess.

With Nash back we really have a good chance against the Spurs. Parker isn't 100% so we don't have to worry about him getting killed too bad on defense. Should be a good series for us to send a message.

If First Round series are completed in six (6) games or less, the Conference Semifinals may move up to begin on either Saturday, May 4 or Sunday, May 5.

*If necessary

All games, except those televised on ABC, are available to be televised locally.

I have no idea how this is going to go, because I don't know if Ginobili will be back, how healthy Parker is, and how our unproven guys will play on the road in the playoffs. If Manu is playing and Parker is healthy that makes a huge difference. Still, if we can play defense like we have these past 2 games, we at least have a chance to win this, even if it's a small one.

I think heres what we do, we guard their perimeter 3 point shooters and pretty much let Duncan go one on one, if hes gonna take open 15 footers so be it. I dont think he can score 40 points a night anymore...hell that was our strategy back in 2008! He put up some monster numbers but he ran out of gas late in games

I guess Manu played 12 minutes in todays game. From what I heard he didn't look real good either

Hate to say it but we really have to hope Manu & Parker aren't healthy.. They'll destroy Nash/Blake/Meeks if they are.

I hope we win but realistically I have to say Spurs in 5.

Watching today's game against Houston, it's scary how terrible our backcourt is without Kobe and Nash. Blake is holding down the fort but outside of Blake it's bleak. This will get exposed against San Antonio I'm afraid.

Tony Parker is the Spurs most dangerous man and our biggest threat out there, if he was limited and not 100% healthy then I really fancy our chance in this series.

I wouldn't underestimate guys like Danny Green, capable of throwing clutch daggers at us anytime. It's a very deep squad, led by the best coach in the league at present. This will be a tall task for sure... but it's slightly easier to accomplish than an OKC matchup, and if Nash is back, our backcourt isn't loaded with scrubs.

If only Meeks found his shot rhythm. :bang: :bang:

No Jackson, not healthy Parker/Ginobili, this should be a good news.

They have a real coach.

We have a pretender.

They have HCA.

We don't.

It'll be a rough one, but I'm goin' with Lakers in 7. :jam2: :ball1:

Spurs in 5...maybe 6. If we had Kobe, no doubt we'd win the series.

at least they have a chance to win this one, unlike if they had played OKC. there would have been absolutely no chance to win that series

^^ Totally agreed. This is the best possible matchup for us. Doesn't mean we'll win, but at least we have a fighting chance, IMO. I didn't want to see OKC until the WCF and who knows, with a whole lot of luck and whole lot of determination and grit . . . it might just be possible?

If they defend like hell and run back [which both they normally don't]...it will make up somewhat for their difficulty in manufacturing points. They have a puncher's chance. Heart says Lakers in six. Head says Spurs in five.
Nor can the Lakers get blamed for always making the right decisions over decades. At some point its not just luck or "gamble", its superior management and superior ownership.

I think the Lakers can win it in 6.

If the Spurs win, sorry but let's just have some fantasy mixed with reality, it'll probably be in 5 or 6.

Yeah pretty much my thoughts.
Vitti uttered three words that surely applies to how Bryant made two free throws on one leg, walked off the court on his own and processed his rehabilitation plan amid the pain, frustration and tears.

“That’s really cool.”

We were REALLY close to sweeping them, despite all our problems this year. This our best chance by far, just keep playing with effort on D.

Although between the two possibilities I feel SA would be an easier series to win, it's still going to be a hard fought first round match up. Predicting who'll win is a bit difficult right now with so many uncertainties. Does Nash and Hill play? At what level will Tony Parker be, and is there any chance of Ginobli returning? If we see the Spurs team we beat a few days ago I believe we can win in 5-6 games. Either way we're going to have to win with our defense and it's something we've greatly improved on (mostly thanks to Dwight/Pau) these past few games. We've made the playoffs and got our preferred opponent, let's win this for Kobe and Dr. Buss!

I'm a little concerned about our ball handling, guys like Green and Leonard are gonna pressure the hell out our ball handlers, its gonna take precious time off the clock and next thing you know there's only 7-9 seconds on the shot clock to go to work with. We better be prepared for this.
