Some people are saying that Karl is going to try something different. Well, I disagree. What he did in Game 1 was his best play to begin with. He's going to make a bet that the hot perimeter shooting by the non-Big 3 Lakers was a fluke and continue to pack the paint and hard double Drew.

So Ebanks, Blake et al need to be ready to hit wide open shots again.

Karl post conference was quite interesting. He had some really interesting things (many complimentary) about the Lakers.

- Lakers were successful because of their stars
- Bynum's showcase season
- Kobe Bryant "unexpected" performance...
- Pau Gasol acting as a 7' playmaker who can put a double-double on anyone.
- Everyone else just filled in the blank
- Nuggets successful because they are a team.
- 5-6 Nuggets need to play at a high level to win,
- 2-3 Lakers need to play at a high level to win.

Barkley refuses to admit he made an idiot out of himself by picking Denver. It's so funny.
"Let me say one more thing about Kobe. He will be the best player in the history of the game. If he keeps doing what he's doing, there is no stopping him. He is that good." - Shaquille O'Neal in his autobiography, "Shaq Talks Back"

Karl should have put Gallo on Kobe sooner ... it will "force" Kobe to drive as it's tougher for him to shoot over Gallo lenght ... the Mamba had the same struggle against him in the regular season

of course I'm not a Thugget fan so I'm pleased with his indecision.

I think he's freaking hilarious. I just don't pay attention to him when he makes predictions. I couldn't stop laughing when he kept calling Koufos Kos Kos.

I would like to see Barkleys face when we beat Miami in the finals in game 7.

Earlier in the game, there were several sequences where Gallo got switched onto Kobe, and Kobe hit shots on him like he wasn't there. I don't think Gallo can guard Kobe....I'd love for Karl of sic him on Kobe, that would be frikkin awesome for us.

I think the switch just happened once in the 1st half...
there was definetely a " tired late in the game" factor in the shots missed by Kobe in the 4th when guarded by Gallo but as Kobe lift isn't what it used to be , he has struggled more to shoot over lenght this season ( Marion, Paterson , Gallo)

I'm not saying Gallo is going to lock Kobe down , not going to happen in the playoffs but imo he's a better 2nd option as a defender on Kobe than Miller or the very skinny Brewer ( has lenght but Kobe just easily creates separation by being stronger)

Barkley is a such a nimrod, but you can tell even he doesn't believe it anymore. He'll never admit he's wrong. After they lose the series, he'll quickly change the subject, move the goalposts and pick another underdog to pull an upset.

Even his explanation is so nonsensical. He said that this was the only series which had a chance to be competitive? LOL.What an idiot. I think a lot of people thought that Dallas/OKC would be competitive...and it was, OKC barely won G1 and G2. I know the series was 4-0, but it was more competitive than it looked. A ot fo people thought that Knicks-Heat was going to be more competitive. Several other series had injuries that no one could have predicted which drastically tilted outcomes. (CHI-PHI and BOS-ATL)

If we finish off the Nugs Tues (i really hope we do), when do we start the 2nd round vs OKC? Thurs?

P.S Perkins with a hip injury is HUGE and can work in our favor.

If we win on Tuesday, then yes, we'd be playing OKC on Thursday, G2 would probably be on Sunday for ratings reasons.

We don't know how hurt Pork is....might not be a big deal.

:man10: Karla thinks we're still playing illegal defense.

If it's illegal to have a 7 footer with a brain, than by all means.

Drew was actually doing a good job staying within arms reach of his man. You know the refs were watching him like a hawk for that 3 sec call too. So if they didn't call it, I don't think that Karl has much of a case.

yes ...

After ending things early with the Mavericks, Oklahoma City won’t start the next series until Saturday at the earliest so Brooks can give his players some time to rest and also work them pretty hard too.

Lakers haven't been notified if next round will start Saturday, assuming Game 5 victory Tuesday, but it's likely they'll be in OKC then.
