I completely understand wanting a guy who is just a board eater and a defender next to Randle if/when Randle develops into the offensive weapon he CAN be, but that's not this year and it's probably not next year either.

Until then, I take the young version of Pau over any of the other Centers available next summer outside of Marc Gasol. Marc would be perfect fit next to Randle actually so I take him first, but Monroe would be the next Center on my list for sure.

I agree with what you said 100%. Do yall out there think(even though he said he wants to stay long term, but IMOPO to stay low key&make fans happy), we have a shot at Lamarcus Aldridge? because that would simply be a home run&I have no reason to believe why he wouldnt be able to play next to Randle. Definitely my 1A plan,1B)Marc Gasol,1C)Monroe IF theres VALUE there.

That would establish our bigs&set us up for Kobes successor etc... once again, IMOPO.

Who is BIG?

BIG L.A.= Lamarcus Aldridge :)

My bad. That makes sense... I don't think there's any chance of that happening though. Aldridge has said he wants to go down as the greatest Blazer of all time and he's certainly got a chance at it.

My plan for bigs with our cap space revolves around Randle.. If he's already a 15-16 PPG player that looks like he'll score 20, I forget Monroe & go after Marc & Asik as my #1 & 2 targets.. If Randle isn't ready to make an impact we really can't wait on him, he'll have to fight for minutes behind Monroe & whoever else we get.

I agree but darn it I want Lamarcus with a passion..im guessing hes waiting for new TV deal to go through before cashing in. We have to go full force Marc Gasol. Another question, if we HAVE to give max money to Monroe/Asik, who would you rather have?

If we have to give the max to 1 of Monroe or Asik I give it to Monroe, because there's 0 potential for Asik to give you max production.. Monroe has that potential to break out & be an allstar. But I wouldn't give either the max.. There are a ton of quality players that will be getting paid.

Love
Aldridge
Marc
Rondo
Kawhi
Dragic
Klay
Monroe
Kemba
Knight

A lot of big contracts are going to be given out next summer.

That still leaves guys like Asik, Jordan, Biyombo, Wesley Matthews, Millsap, Jimmy Butler..

I'd love to get Dragic for Curry money, Matthews for around 2M more than the MLE, & which ever of those rim protectors we can afford. Asik/Jordan/Biyombo, I'll take any of them.

Dragic
Matthews
Kobe
Randle
Asik/Jordan/Biyombo

I'll take that over chasing a single superstar.

No I'll pass.

I don't like Monroe enough to give up Lin/1st. I'm also not high on Jennings as well.

Although you'd have to be high to pay him that much. :man12:

I'm just thinking in the mode of winning this season/appealing to free agents next summer. I think adding Monroe helps us win more games despite the Lin for Jennings swap. Then in free agency, having Jennings locked in for 1 more season might be better than having Lin as a FA. Some team might offer Lin a starting salary over 8 just for his star power & leave us with a big hole to fill at PG.

Having watched KU, I think Randle would benefit and be a better fit with a 7'foot athletic center that concentrates on defense and rebounding...that's what Willie-Cauley Stein provided and they worked well together. I think that would be the direction to go in next year during FA, IMO.

is our interest in beasley gone? still not a fan of our SF rotation. I think we need a slightly bigger body than kobe/young at SF for a good chunk of minutes

i'd take monroe if nash and a 1st were the centerpiece of a deal. but that's just a dream.

As already tweeted - I hear Lakers liked Beasley workout - though given their long list of forwards, MB may be looking at other options 1st

If Randle is good enough to be a starter/solid contributor for us I'd be all in for Asik or Jordan next summer in FA.. Both guys would be great next to the type of PF Randle was in college.. If Randle isn't any good at this level, I'd completely ignore him & just sign the best players available.

Lakers Work Out Michael Beasley For The Second Time

Alex Kennedy ‏@AlexKennedyNBA 22s

I'm told that Michael Beasley had a second workout with the Los Angeles Lakers today. We'll see if the Lakers sign him.

Free-agent guard Shannon Brown has signed a contract with the Miami Heat, Priority Sports, his agency, announced.

I'd take him for the minimum. Low risk with potential for high reward. Can't wait for the Young-Beasely rotation.... potential for massive scoring outbursts or JR High level play.... :man10:

He's about as good as you could hope for on a minimum contract. It's not like he'd be spoiling our championship chemistry if he's a knucklehead, and if his head is screwed on straight, he's a legit good player.

I'd definitely sign him for the minimum. We have nothing to lose.

Why the heck not? We're thin at the three and Beas has talent.

If he had half a brain, he'd be a borderline star in this league.

the minimum for Beasley is definitely worth it, but I sort of hope we don't do it. We have enough players at that position that should be getting minutes ahead of him. IMO Welsey, Nick, or even Henry should all be ahead of him in the depth chart if we do in fact get him for the minimum.

This. I'd rather we focus on a PG, but at the same time... Sessions is really the only PG I think would be worth targeting.

Whatever. Bring on the Beas.

Yeah if Sessions would come here for the minimum that'd definitely be my first option but doesn't seem as realistic as Beasley.
